Would you make a comment about Frozen?

I don't really care what people think inside their own heads but also don't want to get so annoyed with comments that I end up punching someone..

Thanks for any thoughts..

Maybe but not in a bad way. If I said anything it would be along the lines of "DD loves dressing up as princess Elsa"

I reckon you'd get a lot of comments though

GeminiWarrior · 16/04/2018 16:50

You’d get a lot of comments.

Teenytinyvoice · 16/04/2018 16:50

I wouldn’t say anything, I would think it.

My husband specialises in foot in mouth moments, I couldn’t rule out him singing that song in the time it took me to stand on his foot

Weezol · 16/04/2018 16:50

I'm clearly old - I too would think of Born Free. I like the name Elsa, but then I've only seen Frozen once, not 300 times unlike a lot of parents!

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 16/04/2018 16:54

I wouldn't say it out loud but I would think of Frozen, as will most people with small children in their lives whether they are their own children, ones they work with or family members. Unfortunately I think there will be few who don't make the connection but hopefully most will be polite enough not to say 'like out of Frozen' although I wouldn't hold your breath. If I'm honest I think you will be fed up of hearing the comment before she even started school.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 16/04/2018 16:57

My friend named her DD Elsa - about 6mos later Frozen came out.

She couldn't believe it.

But her DD was the coolest girl at preschool for ages, so..... not all bad!

SecretlyChartreuse · 16/04/2018 16:57

I would actually still think of the love interest in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade who was either an Isla or an Elsa.

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 16/04/2018 17:02

I've never seen frozen (thankfully) but I would automatically think of it.

lynmilne65 · 16/04/2018 17:02

Lioness

AnyaMoondial · 16/04/2018 17:04

Elsa is an awesome name, and tbh frozen is pretty awesome too. Not a problem imo.

It in answer to your question: no I wouldn't say anything Smile

itallhappensforareason · 16/04/2018 17:04

I would think of Frozen but not sure I would comment on it as I just find it a bit rude making jokes out of names.

We like the name Harley for a boy, if I had £1 for every time someone said is the middle name going to be Davidson 🙄🙄

Peachbubble · 16/04/2018 17:05

No, not now

felicitythemangyfox · 16/04/2018 17:05

Accidentally - it's actually quite a good film (although I imagine it loses its shine after the first few watches).

Oh dear Secretly - that character was an Elsa and she was quite a bad baddie Hmm

Never seen Frozen but my immediate thought was Born Free .

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/04/2018 17:06

Elsa the lion, Born Free.

bookmum08 · 16/04/2018 17:06

There is a Elsa in a Jacqueline Wilson book. That Elsa actually says her name is unusual and you "might of heard of the lion" (the book is from the 90s). That Elsa is a fairly cheerful and positive gal and (plot spoiler) saves everyone from the fire!!! Unfortunately I think Elsa the lion and Elsa from Jacqueline Wilson won't be peoples first thought now. Oh how I used to cry at Born Free!!!

MargeryB · 16/04/2018 17:08

People will tell her to let it go every time she's cross.

ImogenTubbs · 16/04/2018 17:08

You'll get a lot of comments but I still think it's a pretty name.

DailyMailFail101 · 16/04/2018 17:09

Yes I wouldn’t say anything out aloud but in my head I’d think ‘oh like in frozen’

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 16/04/2018 17:09

I shall take your word for it @felicitythemangyfox thankfully DSC are teens now so I reckon I have got away with it!

PinkCalluna · 16/04/2018 17:11

I wouldn’t automatically think of Frozen but my children would. We’d all be far to polite to comment though.

It is a lovely name.

BrieAndChilli · 16/04/2018 17:12

I think frozen fever has passed a bit how?? People don’t automatically say “ oh like the princess” and sing a whole new world when they meet someone called Jasmine. In fact there’s a jasmine in DS1 class and I’ve only now just though of the connection!!

Numbkinnuts · 16/04/2018 17:13

Better to call her Elsa than Megan right now Smile

felicitythemangyfox · 16/04/2018 17:14

Haha yes, good point Numbkin
