BetterEatCheese · 10/04/2018 23:50

Lay-ton

Bloomed · 10/04/2018 23:50

Layton

ErrolTheDragon · 10/04/2018 23:50

Definitely Layton.

Sophronia · 10/04/2018 23:51

Lay-ton

darcien · 10/04/2018 23:51

Thanks. Also, do you think girl or boy name?

Poppyfields21 · 10/04/2018 23:52

Like Leighton buzzard or Leyton orient. I’d assume a boy

geelee · 10/04/2018 23:52

Layton although my name is leigh (pronounced lee) i would still say Layton

geelee · 10/04/2018 23:53

I'm girl so I suppose it could be either :)

Marv1nGay3 · 10/04/2018 23:54

I would pronounce it ‘Layten’ as in Leighton Buzzard?

SuburbanRhonda · 10/04/2018 23:55

I know one and he’s a boy.

It’s a branch of opticians where I live so I wouldn’t use it. But if you like it, go for it.

Redorangeyellowgreenblue · 10/04/2018 23:59

It's a Everton footballer in the UK I've only heard it used for boys, but think it can be used for both

MrsHathaway · 11/04/2018 00:01

Lay-ton. I've only met boy versions.

Very place name for me.

italiancortado · 11/04/2018 00:02

I don't think it works as a forename.

ANameforToday · 11/04/2018 00:02

Lay-ton. I've met quite a few, all men.

DaphneFanshaw · 11/04/2018 00:03

I would say Layton too. My Aunt used to in in the Buzzard, so while it just reminds me of the town, I would imagine it’s more of a boys name than a girls.

Shitterton · 11/04/2018 00:04

Ley-ton

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2018 00:05

Very place name for me.

Me too. Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, and Leighton Hall hereabouts.

polarb · 11/04/2018 00:06

Lay-ton. I associate it with a girls name, like Leighton Meester.

ferrier · 11/04/2018 00:06

Leyton Hewitt (obv. different spelling) is a male tennis player so I'd assume male too.

Aloethere · 11/04/2018 00:06

I'd pronounce it lay-ton. The only Leighton I've heard of is Leighton Meester so I think of it as a girls name.

AornisHades · 11/04/2018 00:09

Lay-tun. Knew a Welsh man called Leighton so it's a boys name to me.

BackforGood · 11/04/2018 00:14

Lay - tun. Like Leighton buzzard or Leyton orient.

I’d assume it was a boy if I saw the name written down, or heard it.

MrsTerryPratchett · 11/04/2018 00:15

I would assume boys name (with football obsessed aren't).
