I really like Nova, but not Nola.

MammieBear · 14/02/2018 11:30

Nola it's more unusual these days

Sophronia · 14/02/2018 15:20

Nola

Duckies · 14/02/2018 15:22

I wanted to use Nola but DP didn't agree... I think it does derive from Nuala (or Enola, if you want to go in that direction)

Meemzinha · 14/02/2018 18:24

Nova! Love this name... Not chavvy atall.

LinoleumBlownapart · 14/02/2018 21:37

I know a Nova, lovely name. It means new in Portuguese though, plenty of Nova this and Nova that, for a heads up if you ever go there on holiday Grin

user258 · 17/02/2018 22:29

Nova is definitely chavvy.

BlackberryandNettle · 20/02/2018 22:09

Nova. Not keen on Nola. Do you like either Noa or Vita?

DumbledoresApprentice · 20/02/2018 22:13

I like Nola. I also like Phyllis and Norma though so what do I know. Grin I know a teenaged Phyllis and more than one teenaged Norma though so don’t think of old ladies when I hear those names.

Baubletrouble43 · 20/02/2018 22:16

I like Nola best but Nova is OK too. I like Nora better than either and wish I had named one of my dds Nora.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 20/02/2018 22:17

Nola

justhereforAIBU · 27/02/2018 17:23

Nova - and I'd call her "Super Nova" at every opportunity.

FrozenMargarita17 · 27/02/2018 17:31

Nova reminds me of the car so Nola!

ReggaetonLente · 28/02/2018 17:55

Nova does remind me of champagne supernova. Which is maybe not something I’d want people to link to my newborn Grin

I do think they’re both pretty names though.

Junijuli · 01/03/2018 19:37

Nola

Flicketyflack · 01/03/2018 19:43

Know a dog called Nova

Not sure either sounds good for a child 👶

Rylanmakesmyheartsmile · 01/03/2018 19:48

Crappy Vauxhall car or a city in Louisiana?

I love NOLA as a city, but def not as a name. Nova is just a definite no.

Norah on the other hand is lovely, as is Noa

ThriftyMcThrifty · 01/03/2018 20:02

My son had a Nola, Nova and Zola in his class, I love all three names.

ThriftyMcThrifty · 01/03/2018 20:03

Posted too soon, but we are in California in a beach city, not sure they would work as well elsewhere.

eloisesparkle · 01/03/2018 20:13

Nola as in Finola ?
Irish name.

george49 · 01/03/2018 20:25

Ooh you've just reminded me of childhood trips to the Prestatyn Nova swimming pool.

Thank you

daisypond · 01/03/2018 20:29

Nova is a car. Dreadful name for a child. It sounds like a bad pop singer act. Not heard of Nola. It could be OK.

EasterRobin · 01/03/2018 20:39

Nova is a not-so-good car to me, so I would avoid it.

Nola is ok.
