I know a Nola and a Nova and they are two of the smiliest, quirkiest, genuine people I know, so I love both names!

I think I prefer Nova though Smile

Nola is a town that is.

I know a lovely woman called Nola so it sounds good to me.

I should point out it's a town near Naples where my family comes from and is known locally for a heavy organised crime presence!

Nola.

I know a very classy and smart Nola. Nova is just a trendy brand-namey name, to me.

Neither. Not very feminine imo.

Nola is lovely! Nova reminds me of the car. I also like Nora

Nova definitely

I'm not sure why people are suggesting Finola?! It's a bastardised anglicised spelling of Fionnuala which is pronounced Fin-oo-la (kind of!) - NOT Fin-o-la. The names are nothing alike

My darling girl is called aversion of Nova xx

I don't really like either. There is a radio station called radio nova so it makes me think of that. Finola is nice though.

Nova.

I think your instincts are correct OP and both immediately struck me as very chavvy.

I like both. Isn't one of the babies from teen mom called Nova?

I prefer Nola by a long way. It's lovely.

I know a boy toddler called Nova. I like it, it's kind of spacey. Nola is OK, a bit like Lola which is popular.

Both sound like brand names, so it’s a no to both from me, I’m afraid.

To be honest both names sound very functional and plain, both are horrible

Don't love either but Nova is better.

NoLa is what New Orleans gets called.

I like Nola.

Nova sounds very dates to me, and reminds me of the car and as pp said Prestatyn Nova!

Nova is a not-so-good car to me, so I would avoid it.

Nola is ok.

Nova is a car. Dreadful name for a child. It sounds like a bad pop singer act. Not heard of Nola. It could be OK.
