Ashleigh?!

DH and I have had so many disagreements over names, Ashleigh is the one name we can to seem to agree on.

However I have some reservations because I know Ashleigh was extremely popular in the 80s/90s (I'm born '88 so went to school with a few myself) so it does seem to be a name of it's time.

Honest opinions please, would it seem odd for a girl to be name Ashleigh in 2017?! Or is it due a comeback :)

It's my name. I like it although it was popular when I was growing up in the 90s. I imagine it's quite unusual for young children now.

I know a 2 year old girl called Ashley. I always wondered why she wasn't Ashleigh as I thought that was the accepted female spelling so interesting to see that most would use Ashley for either.

I like the name but only for a girl due to it have almost legendary significance in my family as a boy's name - a neighbour's little boy my sister and I were friendly with as children was called Ashley and he once did a poo in our garden (he was probably about 5 at the time so not a total delinquent or anything). But from then on absolutely anything my parents accused us of doing we would look at each other and chorus 'naughty Ashley did it' - even if poor Ashley hadn't been near the house in days!

Personally no. The first thing that springs to mind is the butcher that used to be in Coronation Street.

I really like it and know several teenage ones. The vast majority are spelled Ashleigh. I like Ashley I think.

Think its fine to call her Ashleigh, I slightly prefer Kayleigh. Definitely wouldn't spell it Ashley to me that's a boys name.
