This is for a second DD I don't yet have! Just met a Daphne recently and have been slightly obsessing over its loveliness. But don't know what connotations it has for others.

Frasier

Rainatnight · 24/10/2017 13:10

Yesssss. Me too. Though trying to pretend not.

I love it! Know a 7 year old with sister Viola, just gorgeous.

PsychoPumpkin · 24/10/2017 13:13

Love it but am thinking scooby doo.

But you know, she’ll own her name, it’s a beautiful name & it’ll become ‘her’ name.

Rainatnight · 24/10/2017 13:14

Oh I love Viola. Are the parents Chalet School fans, by any chance?

I really like it! It’s definitely underused at the moment.

cuirderussie · 24/10/2017 13:25

Sweet and quaint. Also, the fab Daphne du Maurier.

wizzywig · 24/10/2017 13:26

Daphne from Neighbours. Nice name!!

glovesonstrings · 24/10/2017 13:31

Beautiful name. Well worth a revival

BabloHoney · 24/10/2017 13:54

Absolutely love the name Daphne! It does make me think of Frasier, but I wouldn't have said that was a bad thing?

DuncanDonut · 24/10/2017 14:00

It’s lovely. I wonder if she’d end up being ‘Daffy’, but that would be ok by me personally.

juneybean · 24/10/2017 14:01

Oh I love it!

Grimmfebruary · 24/10/2017 14:02

Makes me think of daphne du maurier. Beautiful name.

Notalitigator · 24/10/2017 14:16

I'm in the minority as I think it's dreadfully frumpy.

13luckyblackcats · 24/10/2017 14:18

Rainatnight I hadn’t thought of that, but I bet they are!

ThisisrealityGreg · 24/10/2017 14:23

I love it.

I used to work with a lovely Daphne and then there's Daphne from Scooby doo and Daphne from Neighbours. It's all good.

LiviaAD · 24/10/2017 14:23

I think its beautiful, very classical, reminds me of laurels

honeysucklejasmine · 24/10/2017 14:24

Love it. Would have used it but DH's GM is called Daphne and didn't want people to think that was why.

KoalaD · 24/10/2017 14:24

I don't, but I love Dahlia.

NameChange30 · 24/10/2017 14:25

Love it. Underused!

MaMisled · 24/10/2017 14:28

Love it! If I'd had another DD she'd have been a Daphne but had to settle for naming the cat it!

SemperTemper · 24/10/2017 14:28

I absolutely love it but DH said no way. Apparently it's a name reserved for 80 year-olds Hmm

I especially love the way it looks written down.

Lunathemoon · 24/10/2017 14:52

I know a Daphne nn Fifi

Mrsknackered · 24/10/2017 15:03

I love it

ohbarcelona · 24/10/2017 15:46

I love it! Daphne Guinness does come to mind though.
