What would your children be called if...

I'm just curious and thought it would be an interesting topic as I know parents don't agree on everything. What would you have named you child/children if your DP didn't have a say in it?

We agreed on the names of our DDs but I wanted to call DS Julius which DP firmly vetoed as ridiculous (in my defence it is a family name on my side!).

All 6 would be the same! Although he did veto Raphael in the hours before DS6 was born.

dc are called none of these names

He didn't have a say, I picked all 5 of my boys names.If he genuinely didn't like them it was off the list.But otherwise he left it to now.And great names they are 😂😉.Even if I say so myself.

Dd would’ve been Dyllan (dh was having none of it)
Ds would’ve been Riley (dh didn’t like it)

DS has the name I'd loved since I was 10. By great good luck it's also DH's middle name, and so most people assume that is why we chose it.

Atticus. In reality it's much less lovely!

Ds1 would be the same.
Ds2 would have been Bede in planning, but due to the death of a close relative, that would have been changed to Michael soon after his birth. (He got Michael as a second name)
Ds3 would have probably been Benedict.
DD would have been Abigail, or Ruth.

Lucy- our surname also starts with an L so DH said it sounded like a porn star

Same as now. I carried her, I got to name her.

Lois. She is so NOT a Lois! Didn't even suggest it for this one.

DS would probably still have been Edward.
DD would have been Anwen or Miriam.

Surely the more amusing thread would be "What would your DC be called if you didn't have a say in it?"

Currently pregnant and OH has already said the name is entirely up to me. Still probably wouldn't choose anything outrageous though, its most likely going to be Aslak as that's what I've wanted to name a son for many many years.

Louisa and Tessa

Elias. He's actually called Henry. OH vetoed everything except Henry. DS was about 5 days old and I couldn't take anymore so went with it. TBF Henry really suits him but not something I would have chosen at the time. If we have anymore I'm on to him though. And I will have free reign!

DS would have been Florian...I'm pretty glad I got talked out of that one!! DD would have been Delilah.

Merlin and Isambard. I'm sure my children are very glad their father intervened. In retrospect I'm glad too.

Toby - had my heart set on it for a while. But now I prefer the name we chose, which was DH's suggestion and which grew on me a lot!

He vetoed a lot of names I like because they don't work in his language, but I did the same to his suggestions that don't work in English, so we're even

Gulliver and Ramona.
As opposed to their actual names of Heidi and Leo.
On reflection it's probably for the best.

Eliza...DD name is quite similar and I'm hoping for Eliza for at least a middle name for DD2

Stella And Jack (both really dificulta to say in dh's language.) i really like the Ones we have though.
