Esme - what comes to mind when you think of this name? How would you describe the name?

Next doors cat. Grin But apart from that it's a lovely name!

mailfuckoff · 17/09/2017 16:22

It's the name of a witch in discworld, an excellent choice for a name

loobybear · 17/09/2017 16:23

I think of the Esme Fairbairn Foundation because I used to work somewhere that was funded by them. Have never heard it anywhere else but the foundation was obviously named after Esme Fairbairn so pretty positive connotations.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 17/09/2017 16:25

Twilight

Lovely name though!

stepmum100 · 17/09/2017 16:26

Love this name, my husbands not so keen!

Violetparis · 17/09/2017 16:26

Lovely, unusual name.

inmyheadimthequeen · 17/09/2017 16:27

It's a lovely name but I've heard it quite a bit recently, think it's becoming one of the popular girl's names.

ScarletForYa · 17/09/2017 16:28

I think of an old woman in a flowery tabard with Dame Edna glasses!

Iwannasnack · 17/09/2017 16:30

I also think twilight. Definitely getting more popular recently. Lovely name though, very pretty.

soupforbrains · 17/09/2017 16:31

I think of a girl I went to school with who had that name. She was bright, witty and pretty. So an all round nice association for me.

A little girl I used to teach was Esmae. We currently have another Esme at nursery at the moment, but I thought of Esmae no. 1 first.

Shadowboy · 17/09/2017 16:36

Twilight. But I do like it.

ProseccoMamam · 17/09/2017 16:36

I imagine a hippy's daughter with brown eyes brow curly hair and a bandana that matches her socksHmm

It's a beautiful name, would sound lovely with a matching cutesy girly middle name x

yawning801 · 17/09/2017 16:36

A clingy, obnoxious girl who was in the year below me at school. Sorry!

Winteriscomingneedmorewood · 17/09/2017 16:38

Esmae....

KadabrasSpoon · 17/09/2017 16:39

Peaky Blinders but I do like it. There's a lot of baby Esmes around here so it's becoming popular I think. Not a problem though but I wouldn't agree with PP that it's unusual.

NapQueen · 17/09/2017 16:39

I only know an adult Esme so it would make me think of her. She is lovely.

SasBel · 17/09/2017 16:40

Esme Weatherwax in Discworld. Lovely name!

Not another one.....

Because I already know 3 girls called Esmae all under 2. It is becoming popular

EllenJanethickerknickers · 17/09/2017 16:43

Pretty name but I'm never sure how to pronounce it. I know an Ez-May and an Ez-Mee.

Twilight. I like it apart from that though.

MammieBear · 17/09/2017 16:49

It brings to my mind someone very feminine and romantic. It's a lovely name that I think most girls would be pleased to wear. Smile
