Really undecided with boys names and I just heard this. Have never considered it before but quite like it. I also love biblical names and from googling see it's in the bible. What are your thoughts?

I know too many dogs called Rufus. It’s a bit of a joke name nowadays so might be a wee bit mean to give it to a little boy.
What about Rudy?

Funnily enough I’ve never heard of any dogs being called Rufus. Most dogs I know have human names.
IME people like Rex more compared to Rufus, and Rex is much more of a dog’s name than Rufus, to me anyway.

Good point, Ken

One of our twins is going to be Rufus. My dad’s ginger though and I’m a bit gingery, and I’m just paranoid we’re going to get one red haired twin but not know which one until it’s too late and we’ve named them wrong!

DD would have been Rufus if she was a boy, but I probably won't use it if future DC are boys as I've met a really annoying Rufus since! My DH was particularly keen since red is the colour of his football team so he saw it as a nod to that.

I love Rufus.

Also love Rupert, Magnus, Miles. Any good?

I've never liked it. Wince slightly everytime my friend mentions her baby Nephew called Rufus.

Gacapa · 07/01/2018 22:58

I feel a bit bad saying it, but I do just think "dog name".

My friend has a Rufus and he’s a lovely little boy.

LOVE it!
