Totally stuck and it's starting to stress me out now! I thought she might look like one or the other once she'd arrived but it's not become any clearer. It will be one of these two so please don't suggest any others!

Imogen (immy) or matilda (mattie).

Imogen seems a little more timeless and elegant to me, maybe better for an adult? But there is something lovely about the sound of matilda and mattie seems so much cuter and cuddlier! I'm not keen on tilly though and realise she may choose that herself I the future if we go with matilda. I know both are reasonably popular and I'm not bothered about that, would be interested to hear opinions (not too harsh please as it will def be one of these two)

I have a Mathilda. I never liked Tilly and we've never used it. DD is Tild or Mathilda and she can't bear Tilly either.

I know one other Matilda and she is a Mattie, never ever been Tilly.

Far prefer it to Imogen.

NameChange30 · 15/06/2017 19:17

Not Maude!!! 😱

I don't think the nickname thing is a big deal. If you introduce her as Mattie, people will call her Mattie. I think she would only go by Tilly if she herself liked it, but if she's used to being called Mattie she will probably prefer that.

BlondeGinger · 15/06/2017 19:45

Much prefer Matilda. It's not as commonly used as Imogen and I love Mattie. She's gorgeous OP, congratulations.

ScarletSienna · 15/06/2017 19:50

Congratulations! I only know two Matildas and one is Mattie and one is Tilda. If you say, 'this is Mattie' she likely will be called Mattie and having Matilda on the BC is lovely. I don't really like the name Imogen and especially how it gets shorted to Imo.

Matilda is such a gorgeous name.

FreeNiki · 15/06/2017 23:35

Imogen.

I dont like Matilda, mattie etc

marmitecrumpets · 15/06/2017 23:39

She's gorgeous. And looks like a Matilda

MikeUniformMike · 15/06/2017 23:47

She's lovely. I think she's an Imogen.

Argeles · 15/06/2017 23:57

Imogen.

Buntysoven · 16/06/2017 01:48

Scrumptious baby! Well done! Love Matilda. It's a warmer name somehow.

HeteronormativeHaybales · 16/06/2017 07:04

Matilda. Much nicer, nicer shortenings. travels really well, unlike Imogen. Was high on our list for dd.

I think Matilda is more classic and Imogen is currently having a bit of a 'moment'.

mummytobemaybe · 17/06/2017 00:18

Imogen

GreatFuckability · 17/06/2017 00:26

Matilda. I know one who goes by Mati, I didn't even know she wasn't christened Mati until i'd known her about 4 years. she's Mati to everyone and it really suits her.

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 17/06/2017 00:29

She's so adorable!

I think she looks like a Matilda.

Congratulations!

Sorry totally forgot to come back! We went with Imogen in the end, I was totally torn and still love mattie too so think we'll just have to have another! Thanks for all of your comments.

bridgetreilly · 27/07/2017 18:48

Imogen is a lovely choice. Well done.

frid · 27/07/2017 18:58

Imogen

frid · 27/07/2017 18:58

Oh sorry, should have read the thread! Lovely choice

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/07/2017 19:44

Such a gorgeous little baby, use Mattie next time ! 😄

brightlightceiling · 27/07/2017 19:59

Imogen

Topkat9 · 27/07/2017 22:20

Both are lovely, and I love Mattie for Matilda as I'm not keen on Tilly either. If I had to choose I'd go Imogen just because Matilda does seem to be very popular at the moment.

buttercup54321 · 27/07/2017 22:48

Matilda. Congratulation xx

GU24Mum · 27/07/2017 22:53

Well done for choosing - we didn't name one of ours very quickly and it just got harder and harder! Perhaps you're destined to have a Matthew next time....!
