Totally stuck and it's starting to stress me out now! I thought she might look like one or the other once she'd arrived but it's not become any clearer. It will be one of these two so please don't suggest any others!

Imogen (immy) or matilda (mattie).

Imogen seems a little more timeless and elegant to me, maybe better for an adult? But there is something lovely about the sound of matilda and mattie seems so much cuter and cuddlier! I'm not keen on tilly though and realise she may choose that herself I the future if we go with matilda. I know both are reasonably popular and I'm not bothered about that, would be interested to hear opinions (not too harsh please as it will def be one of these two)

Imogen or Felicity aka Flick

Alwaysrushingaround · 14/06/2017 21:30

She's an Imogen !

(And fabulous in every way )
Congratulations OP

RuthB4 · 15/06/2017 05:08

She looks like a Matilda Smile Although I slightly prefer Imogen

KoalaDownUnder · 15/06/2017 05:27

Imogen. Much more elegant.

newname123456 · 15/06/2017 05:59

If you don't like Tilly, avoid Matilda!

cabininthewoods2016 · 15/06/2017 06:04

Imogen xx

handonhip · 15/06/2017 09:26

She looks like a Mattie/Matilda to me! Lovely.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 15/06/2017 10:39

Imogen Matilda, lovely !

FfionFlorist · 15/06/2017 11:59

Both are lovely but I prefer Imogen. She is beautiful and very snugly, congratulations.

joannegrady90 · 15/06/2017 12:00

I was just about to post that, without a shadow of a doubt, Imogen/Immy by far my fave out of those two (& that Mattie makes me thinks of matted hair for some reason Blush ) BUT then I saw pic and she just looks like a Matilda!

Least helpful post ever I know!

But just HUGE congratulations, she is beautiful (& that hair!!!) and you - irrespective of what you call her - are utterly blessed to have her Flowers

FizzyGreenWater · 15/06/2017 12:40

I would go for Imogen, simply because every time you mention Matilda you are actually saying Mattie. And the chances are very high that you will actually end up with a Tilly once she decides her short form for herself, as Mattie won't be a short form to everyone's taste.

I said Imogen but it sounds to me, OP that Matilda is what you want deep down!
Just be aware that Mattie isn't everyone's first go-to nickname (I'd never heard of it) so she might be called other things when she's older but she can still be 'your' Mattie.😊

mollyminniemo · 15/06/2017 14:00

Imogen is twee and boring and IMMY- please!! Can you not hear yourselves?? This is the most sickly, awful, grating name known to man...or babies. Just NO.

meettherussians · 15/06/2017 14:02

Matilda, definitely. Imogen sounds horrid and is a pretty plain name but the people I know who've used it have very false senses of grandeur and seem to think it sounds posh. It doesn't- it sounds old fashioned and not in the pretty vintage way. Agree that Immy is also incredibly sickly, yuck.

roselondoner · 15/06/2017 14:12

Matilda!!! Tilda or Tilly or mattie or anything she likes. I have a friend called Imogen who hates it vehemently so maybe I'm biased!!!

Choccyhobnob · 15/06/2017 14:25

Imogen, really not a fan of Mattie

HeyRoly · 15/06/2017 14:29

Your heart lies with Mattie/Matilda, doesn't it? So go for it then Grin

MadisonAvenue · 15/06/2017 15:19

Oh she's beautiful! Definitely a Mattie/Matilda!

Daffydil · 15/06/2017 16:26

Wow. Some fairly harsh opinions of Imogen there!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 15/06/2017 17:55

OP, your little baby, is absolutely beautiful !

jinglebellmel · 15/06/2017 18:10

Thankyou all will update if/when we ever make a decision! I think some of you have
Made a good point - I think of her as mattie and not matilda and there's a good chance others may not call her that, which makes me think I might be best with imogen (which dh prefers).

Trying not to stress and just think how lucky we are to have her here safe and well whatever she is called. So much sadness in the news lately it's crazy to get wound up over a name isn't it?!

Just throwing it out there but how about Maude? Saves the worry of choosing between your two names! 👍
