Thoughts on Dixie

Hi ladies. I've lurked for ages but now I'm finally pregnant have decided to join!

I've a while to go, but dreamt around 5 months ago (before I was even pregnant) of the name Dixie for a girl and havent been able to shake it since.

My partner likes it too but I'm not sure if it's just the fact I dreamed of it taking over for me. Also toying with Daisy.

Honest thoughts please? Surname is Dark if that helps!!

It'd be better if your surname was chicken

I like Daphne but wouldn't go for it in this case. Daffy Dark, Daffy Duck...

I really live the suggestion of Penelope Dark. But if alliteration is wanted then I agree a longer name works better.

In all honesty Dixie Dark sound a bit like a porn star name. Daisy Dark is lovely. Congratulations!

I really like the suggestions of Delilah and Beatrix. I think Jennifer would work well too. Congratulations!

I really like the sound of the longer names like Antonia, Penelope, Esmeralda with your surname. I think Dixie is a cute nickname but too flimsy as a given name and does sound like a cartoon character with Dark.

I LOVE Dixie! I won't be having any children but if I was and it was a girl it would definitely be one of the top contenders. I think Dixie Dark is a really cool name.

I love the name Dixie, but not with Dark. Agree with pps ref porn star soundalike. I think it needs to be something super girly to get away from movie villain territory.
