Fake names for nosey people?

Did you come up with a fake name to give to the nosey parkers who wouldn't stop asking about the name?

My cousin went with Dave and Damien

If you're going to give fake names, it would be much more fun to claim your dc was (to be?) called Balthazar or Dogberry...

SuperBeagle · 22/03/2017 02:12

Gerald and Geraldine.

They stopped asking after DC1. Grin

Lochan · 22/03/2017 02:40

No, we just said "you'll find out after the baby's born"

Be careful though I do know someone who picked a silly name for their baby as a joke. They referred to the bump as they name for so many weeks that they got used to it and it became the child's real name... Confused

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 22/03/2017 03:27

"We haven't decided on a name yet...when we finally meet him/ her, we'll know what suits him/ her best"

No possible answer to that Wink

TheDowagerCuntess · 22/03/2017 03:56

When asked if we had names in mind, we just said, 'yes we do'.

End of conversation.

crazypenguinlady · 22/03/2017 04:25

Yes, for the boy we picked a joke name that rhymed with the surname (think Ray McKay) and for the girl, I kept repeating names of TV personalities my Nan hated. It was only my mum and Nan who nagged about it though and was always good natured. Smile

FreeNiki · 22/03/2017 04:53

Horace
Ethelred
Cuthbert

ICJump · 22/03/2017 04:59

We did. Well DS1 came up with a name and we just used it.

SpikeGilesSandwich · 22/03/2017 05:24

We told people we were thinking Thor, went down surprisingly well actually! We didn't use it although I do call DS it sometimes when he is playing with his toy hammer Smile

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 22/03/2017 06:01

Alphonso and Gonzo.

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 22/03/2017 06:02

Or Harthacnut but pronounce it Halfacunt.

flumpybear · 22/03/2017 06:04

Kermit 🐸

CryptoFascist · 22/03/2017 06:05

Brutus

INeedNewShoes · 22/03/2017 06:13

If it's a girl I'm going to call her Princess and if it's a boy then I'm torn between Nigel and Brian.

PetalMettle · 22/03/2017 06:18

I'd just go for really popular as then they won't feel the need to discuss is further - Oliver and Ava or something

ILikeSalmon · 22/03/2017 07:01

Fanjita and Juan

My friend who I haven't seen for years keeps texting literally every week "name yet?"
Not "how are you?" Or anything.
Nosy fucker

Fairybella · 22/03/2017 07:07

Genuine question... why not tell the truth? I've know people keep a name secret and build it up and then it's named something obvious. I was expecting something like baby Zeus!
Is it incase someone pinches it? Or is rude?

JuniDD · 22/03/2017 07:12

We didn't know the sex so just said we'd be waiting to see what they looked like when they were born. Didn't really discuss it between ourselves either.

Gaaaah · 22/03/2017 07:14

Boris. Husbands idea.

Helenluvsrob · 22/03/2017 07:16

Friends twins were " ivy and Geoff" in utero.

Guess how they were conceived !

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 22/03/2017 07:25

We don't find out during the pregmamcy but do like to wind certain family members up. They are stolen from the tv programme Milly Molly, Albert Roger (actually not an awful name) for a boy & Albertina Rogerella for a girl Grin

Ecureuil · 22/03/2017 07:38

'We haven't decided yet' worked for us!

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 22/03/2017 07:42

'DH wanted Endeavour, after Inspector Morse, but now we know it's a girl we're back to the drawing board!'

I did tell one trusted friend, just in case the initials made an embarrassing acronym or there were any bad connotations that I hadn't noticed.

FeralBeryl · 22/03/2017 07:50

Boris or Doris
Darren or Karen

Couldn't be arsed with any negativity so kept schtum.

wobblywonderwoman · 22/03/2017 07:50

These are so funny.

I just said we had a name in mind but didn't want to say incase we changed - and we did.
