What do you guys think of this name for a boy?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Neolara · 17/03/2017 21:20

Just unbelievably awful. Please don't..

carabos · 17/03/2017 21:20

Only if his brothers are called Wayne and Gary Grin.

user1489781128 · 17/03/2017 21:20

Why do you think it's awful? I'm actually interested into why?

OP posts:
SugarLoveHeart · 17/03/2017 21:22

And his girlfriend is called Tracy

Caprianna · 17/03/2017 21:24

I would laugh if someone i knew called their baby Darren. I don't know why.

user1489781128 · 17/03/2017 21:24

I actually don't get why this name is so bad to you guys :(

No, not yet. Another 20 years or so and you would get away with it as retro - perhaps

TheUpsideDown · 17/03/2017 21:25

If you don't mind the chavvy nickname 'Daz' when he's a teen Grin

regularbutpanickingabit · 17/03/2017 21:26

It's an era thing. There are a handful of names that conjure up very strong images of people, attitudes, lifestyles and attitudes pretty much universally. I don't think Darren is the worst of those but it slips in that direction.

maitaimojito · 17/03/2017 21:26

It just seems very 80's. I can't imagine it on a baby. Maybe it'll come back around in 30 years but I can imagine you might get a few raised eyebrows when introducing DS.

Imaginingdragonsagain · 17/03/2017 21:27

Definitely not. Same as Wayne and Kevin.

blankpieceofpaper · 17/03/2017 21:29

This is the umpteenth name thread you have posted - go look at a baby name book. Or anything, really!

user1471469504 · 17/03/2017 21:29

If you're not sure about Darren, how about Darragh (an Irish name).

Imaginingdragonsagain · 17/03/2017 21:30

Blankpieceofpaper- yep! thought the user name was familiar-loads of name threadsb

TheCakes · 17/03/2017 21:31

Darren is a 40 year old bloke driving an xr3i.
Sorry.

Glossolalia · 17/03/2017 21:32

It's very dated.

Kelly, Barry, Gary, Kevin, Wayne, Colin

Blossomdeary · 17/03/2017 21:33

I knew a couple called Darren and Tracy.

But no - just don't saddle him with this.

user1489781128 · 17/03/2017 21:33

Didn't know there was a limit to the number of posts I can post on here

msgrinch · 17/03/2017 21:34

Dazzzzaaaaa!

Just don't.

Pallisers · 17/03/2017 21:34

Only if you refer to him as "our Darren".

I don't like it. I know a few bit I think it I'd dated.

YolandiFuckinVisser · 17/03/2017 21:38

I used to fancy a boy called Darren even though I couldn't fancy his name
He must be about 50 now and probably a grandad.

KanyesVest · 17/03/2017 21:44

I've a lovely friend called Darren. I wouldn't saddle a child with the name. Not yet time for its revival.

Algebraic · 17/03/2017 21:44

Every Darren I know ended up in prison. It's a no no!
