I realised...after posting it's a rather old thread, lol....

I quite like it but have always had a thing for scullery maid/old codger names. DD's shortening was Elsie for the first few months of life.

The woman who plays Roxy on Eastenders is called Rita, she was on Jonathan Ross on friday and was rather fab.

Makes me think of Corrie but I think Rita is such a glam name! It's unusual too nowadays so I'd use it!

But @MrsCD67 the child is ELEVEN YEARS OLD now. They have probably decided on a name now.

Reminds me of a Ryvita cracker.
