I've never posted on mn before but am due with baby number three next month and my husband and I are still undecided on names. With dd1 and dd2 we had them chosen almost from the beginning but this time we keep changing our minds! So I'm interested to hear what everyone thinks. In no particular order here is our shortlist for both boy and girl...

Boy:
Raphael
Harrison
Ioan
Wilf
Rusty

Girl:
Callista
Vivia
Eden
Mirabel
Pearl
Ophelia

I never thought of thatOP. But yes I'm being very sincere.

Harrison is a great name and can be shortened to Harris or Harry.

I think Raphael is very elegant and is cultured (painter, arch Angel, ninja turtle) and I love the nickname Rafe.

Eden just makes me think of the garden of Eden but in a good way. Pure meadows, beautiful flowers... Very elegant but also not too old fashioned.

Good luck choosing! ⭐️

Oh and IRT Ophelia I'd not worry. If someone is going to take the Nick they'll find something from anywhere.

But it's not an obvious one like William and Willy and Richard and Dick.

I'm Stefanie and did get some Fanny jokes as a kid though.

I just inwardly groaned and rolled my eyes.

I like all your names, but Callista just reminds me of canesten or whatever that thrush cream is called. Sorry Confused I really love Eden and Harrison.

Ioan, Raphael and Wilf are great. How about Rafe?

I like Vivia and Ophelia and quite like Callista and Mirabel. Cassia? Amabel? Viveca?

Letmestartagain · 10/01/2017 14:21

Ophelia is on my list, I think it's great! What about switching it up and using Eden for a boy? I've heard it used for boys and I think it suits perfectly.

Rinmybell · 11/01/2017 10:53

Raphael! I look at my youngest everyday and wish I had encorporated it into his name somewhere.
Hate Callista, it sounds almost bitchy?!
Eden is cute.

BlueCheese23 · 25/11/2018 12:24

I like Raphael and Pearl

ForAMinuteThere · 25/11/2018 12:31

Mirabel is gorgeous. So is Ophelia. Such lovely names.

Boys I'd choose Raphael - Raff / Raph as a nickname to me conjures up good lad at school, rugby captain type thing. Good strong but interesting name - do it! Grin

As pp said some of them are hipster and will date really badly.

Astronica · 25/11/2018 12:36

Wilf and Eden are my favourites. I also like Raphael and don't mind Ophelia. Cross Rusty off your list.
