Our little boy is nameless. We have to register him soon! I feel really sorry for him Grin poor little guy does need a name! We just can't pick (absolutely love them all!) which is your favourite???

Bear and River are OK... I tend to see River as a girl's name, despite River Phoenix. Bear is nice as a nickname for Edward. Everest... Not sure. I think double glazing too. Forest/Forrest I hate. If you want a nature name, could you consider Ash (as in the tree)? It's a name in its own right anyway - Hebrew, meaning happy.

Alpine
Ice
Frost
Stalk
Pebble

Or how about John?

Bertucci · 04/11/2016 20:31

They are all a bit, er, wanky.

Ikeameatballs · 04/11/2016 23:14

Forrest
River
Bear

Everest

In that order

CakeRattleandRoll · 05/11/2016 04:39

Bear. But preferably as a nn for Edward or Theodore. Then your son gets the best of both worlds.

BitOutOfPractice · 05/11/2016 04:43

Not so keen on Everest because I immediately thought of the brand if windows. "Fit the best. Fit Everest"

But then I am a. old and b. in that trade.

TheOnlyColditz · 05/11/2016 05:27

Give him a name he can take to a job interview ffs

ElizaDontlittle · 05/11/2016 05:36

Probably River. Were you going to give him a more traditional middle name?

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 05/11/2016 08:24

What Colditz said. Hence the Hmm

Chinlo · 05/11/2016 09:25

I'm also not a fan of Everest. Too specific.

Bear I think is cool but agree with lots of others that it's a little nicknamey.

I LOVE both Forrest and River, unfortunately they're both unpronouncable where I live otherwise I might have given them more serious consideration for our son. Of the two, my preference would be Forrest.

Bummymummy77 · 05/11/2016 11:12

I have an extremely unusual and hippy name and so does dh. Never stopped us in our career paths. Stop being such stuck up snobs.

NovelDensity · 05/11/2016 11:16

River

Or Edward nn Bear

Forrest conjures Gump and as you e discovered Everest is a member of Paw Patrol :-)

gratefully · 05/11/2016 11:28

All terrible.

Bear is twee and not a name.
Forrest is Forrest Gump and not a nice association
River is River Phoenix and not a nice association
Everest reminds me of Everest Windows, Mount Everest or EverReady batteries.

NameChange30 · 05/11/2016 11:39

I love the name Leo and I don't think it matters that it's popular.

The other names you like are really not to my taste, but that shouldn't stop you if you love them. However maybe you could give him a more common middle name or nickname so he can use it if he prefers?

I think River would be my pick, definitely not Forrest because he'll get "run, Forrest, run" all the time!

fruityb · 05/11/2016 12:03

Forrest Gump is a man who achieves everything despite his difficulties. I wouldn't see that as negative at all!

Chinlo · 05/11/2016 12:54

fruityb

Agreed. It's also a distinctly 90s film that I doubt will be THAT popular with teenagers in the year 2030.

And it's just a cool name.

fruityb · 05/11/2016 13:17

I don't think the film link is there now - certainly not among kids who will be born in the next year. It must be 20 years old now.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/11/2016 13:24

Bear or River

dingit · 05/11/2016 13:28

Agree with up post, all wanky Smile

SirChenjin · 05/11/2016 13:29

Bear - but only as a nickname.

Onenerfwarfrombreakdown · 05/11/2016 13:44

River is the best of that bunch for me.

Forrest is ok but yes I do think Gump. Not necessarily a bad thing, but could get boring hearing "run Forrest run" for years.

Bear is a nickname only for me.
Everest is too "out there". Also window glazing.

Onenerfwarfrombreakdown · 05/11/2016 13:45

Oh and yes Leo or Leon (now that's an awesome film!) are much better than any on your original list.

Bear and River are too Jamie Oliver.

Forrest is a great name.

Mummamayhem · 05/11/2016 13:59

I love the idea of River. I'd probably never actually use it but it sounds great to me.
