Samuel.

Samuel

Or John

All the Johns I know are about 50, time for a revival.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 31/10/2016 14:05

Samuel

BarInSpace · 31/10/2016 14:09

John, classic but more unusual at the moment.

SausageSoda · 31/10/2016 15:59

John. I met a baby John recently and it was a nice surprise as the name is rarely used any more.

I think there was a thread recently asking the exact same thing - John vs Samuel

pilates · 31/10/2016 16:05

Samuel

SausageSoda - thank you , I will have a look for that thread! 😊

John is fabulous.

AmyInTheBoonies · 31/10/2016 20:45

John - more unusual nowadays and although I would've said it was boring twenty years ago now it's quite fresh but still a classic.

Wafflenose · 31/10/2016 20:51

Both are lovely! (how helpful...)

I would have used John for a boy if it had gone with our surname, but it doesn't. I had girls though!

Maims100 · 31/10/2016 20:54

Samuel, but you can't go wrong with either

rainbow99 · 31/10/2016 22:22

Samuel

bluechameleon · 31/10/2016 22:46

We seriously considered Samuel for DS but I couldn't decide how to pronounce it - Sam-you-ell? Sam-yoll?
So I'd go with John because I know how to say it.

WhiteHairReally · 01/11/2016 06:25

John

insancerre · 01/11/2016 06:26

Samuel
But then I have one of my own

Jenijena · 01/11/2016 06:27

Both lovely.

//inserts wildcard of Jonathan

Cucumber5 · 01/11/2016 06:37

Both are great. Johnny is a great nickname. Sam too

thenightmanageress · 01/11/2016 06:56

Samuel
It's a great classic name I may be biased as mine is sitting next to me
But I do think John is a good strong name too

oleoleoleole · 01/11/2016 07:07

Depends how much you like Sam. I don't, only because it's a unisex name!

stonygreysoil · 02/11/2016 06:54

both great names. If you have a longer surname, then John works better and vice versa.

LovelyBranches · 03/11/2016 15:23

DS has the middle name John, as does DH and my d father (although df used it as his given name). I love it but I think Samuel John is a lovely name too.

JunebabyT · 03/11/2016 18:56

Samuel (also on my list) but John is very nice as well
