I like it

Notthisnotthat · 21/08/2016 19:32

I like it.

CancellyMcChequeface · 21/08/2016 19:47

I like it too! Pronunciation could be an issue, though - the little Khalids I've met have pronounced it KHA-lid with a hard kh but I tend to hear ka-LEED more often from nursery staff, etc.

lastqueenofscotland · 21/08/2016 19:51

I like it but ditto the above re ambiguous punctuation

firawla · 21/08/2016 21:50

I like it, hard for people to pronounce who don't speak Arabic though so depends how bothered you would be by hearing it said wrong

wesH · 22/08/2016 08:33

I like it, though my first thought was DJ Khaled!

Olbersparadox · 22/08/2016 09:03

Lol me too DJ Khaled. I am not keen.

Porcupinetree · 22/08/2016 17:01

I really do not like it, sorry.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 22/08/2016 17:03

I like it

Mottled · 23/08/2016 11:59

It is ok. If you want a similar Arabic boys name, how about Qasim (kas-seem)? Love that name.

user1471501988 · 25/08/2016 19:50

Could you provide us with your other choices ?

Iamcheeseman · 25/08/2016 19:54

I've never heard of it and have no idea from looking at it if you are planning on using it for a boy or girl. I wouldn't know how to pronounce it and if someone told me it I doubt I'd spell it right. Just bear in mind if you use it your child will probably spend their life telling people how to pronounce and spell their name.

Disappointednomore · 25/08/2016 20:07

There was a really cute presenter on Look North when I was growing up called Khalid Aziz so I have really fond connotations

Big no from me. Sorry.

dogparkingbus4x4wanker · 25/08/2016 20:49

Reminds me of DJ Khaled.

Reminds me of DJ Khaled.

AnnaMarlowe · 25/08/2016 20:51

Iamcheeseman it may depend where you are from in the country. I think it's a perfectly ordinary name and would know how to spell it.

OP I think it's a great name. IIRC it means "eternal" doesn't it?

dogparkingbus4x4wanker · 25/08/2016 20:54

Isn't it a name of Muslim heritage?

neolara · 25/08/2016 20:57

My best friend when I was 5 was Khalid. So I like it a lot.

ApocalypseSlough · 25/08/2016 21:33

It's a lovely name. It's also Muslim, so a little random if your other dcs are Benedict and Priti.

Marmalizes · 25/08/2016 22:01

llias pronounced. [ ih Lee as] is in the same vain. Easy to pronounce and a little unusual.

CoffeeShop12345 · 25/08/2016 22:07
