Just heard it on TV, I quite like it? What could it be short for?

fortifiedGrin

I swear it should be illegal for pregnant women to choose baby names. Op give your head a wobble and be grateful for MN!

Promise you'll come back and check before you go to register the birth! Grin

Briquette is what you put on a barbecue and light. Surely not...

I've seen some bonkers names on MN in my time, but this is getting close to the top of them!

I think the American boyfriend of the crazy sister in Outnumbered was called Brick. It's not a real name!

Brick is ugly. Except for when it's Paul Newman in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

There was also a character in Hart of Dixie called Brick.

My DC's love it. In fact one of our chickens is named Brick. I think you can only get away with it if you live in the deep south in the US.

Yes, I was just about to post this. Karen keeps asking him "but what's your real name?"

Don't do it op

Do you mean Breck? That's a boy's name.

I do know of a child called Slate. That has a bit more of a ring to it. Brick is more of a dull thud.

Brick is definitely a name, but I think it's one of those American 'surname as a given name' ones, which makes it sound like a made up thing, especially as it's a noun (and a spectacularly dull one at that).

This is Brick from Anchorman. That's who I would associate it with.

I've heard of Flint, which is similar maybe but less... brick-like! I think maybe I don't like it because I don't think bricks are particularly lovely objects.
