Just heard it on TV, I quite like it? What could it be short for?

I swear it should be illegal for pregnant women to choose baby names. Op give your head a wobble and be grateful for MN!

Promise you'll come back and check before you go to register the birth! Grin

I dunno I say go for it if you love it.

BettyDraper1 · 26/07/2016 14:50

Immediately makes me think 'Brick loves lamp'

No really what you are after, I'd imagine.

Roussette · 26/07/2016 14:50

Briquette is what you put on a barbecue and light. Surely not...

I've seen some bonkers names on MN in my time, but this is getting close to the top of them!

Pam is Welsh for "why"

Is there a character in Anchorman called Brick?

I don't like it, sorry.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/07/2016 14:55

Not even for a dog.
Sorry.

Hariasa · 26/07/2016 14:55

No.

Think again.,

jobrum · 26/07/2016 14:56

I think the American boyfriend of the crazy sister in Outnumbered was called Brick. It's not a real name!

ShatnersBassoon · 26/07/2016 14:57

Brick is ugly. Except for when it's Paul Newman in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Shock
LemonBreeland · 26/07/2016 15:00

There was also a character in Hart of Dixie called Brick.

My DC's love it. In fact one of our chickens is named Brick. I think you can only get away with it if you live in the deep south in the US.

Yes, I was just about to post this. Karen keeps asking him "but what's your real name?"

Don't do it op

Mrsraypurchase · 26/07/2016 15:01

Do you mean Breck? That's a boy's name.

Madbengalmum · 26/07/2016 15:03

Ridiculous and awful.

Footle · 26/07/2016 15:04

I do know of a child called Slate. That has a bit more of a ring to it. Brick is more of a dull thud.

ShatnersBassoon · 26/07/2016 15:04

Brick is definitely a name, but I think it's one of those American 'surname as a given name' ones, which makes it sound like a made up thing, especially as it's a noun (and a spectacularly dull one at that).

EverySongbirdSays · 26/07/2016 15:06

This is Brick from Anchorman. That's who I would associate it with.

GerdaLovesLili · 26/07/2016 15:07

Brick Shitt-House of the Arkensas Shitt-Houses?

MrsGuyOfGisbo · 26/07/2016 15:07

Just...don't.

I've heard of Flint, which is similar maybe but less... brick-like! I think maybe I don't like it because I don't think bricks are particularly lovely objects.
