Hi, dh is very keen on Brock (with traditional middle name). Has anyone called their ds Brock and are you still in love with the name? I do like it and imaging a lovely, gentle, fun little boy but worry if it's a little too unusual?
Thanks Grin

I don't think of a human child. I just think badger.

parissont · 17/04/2016 13:17

It's a badgers name

Tiggeryoubastard · 17/04/2016 13:20

Badger. You'd have to be a twat to saddle a human with that.

thatstoast · 17/04/2016 13:20

Brock Lesnar, professional wrestler!

Does anyone have a Brock, and what are your thoughts?
thatstoast · 17/04/2016 13:22

Brock's middle name is Edward, that's traditional.

2ManySweets · 17/04/2016 13:22

Badgers...

Herewegoagainfolks · 17/04/2016 13:25

I'd tend to think badger too but it's not the worst name I've heard on these boards.

I would caution you a bit regarding imagining a personality to go with the name, your baby will be his own person.

nagsandovalballs · 17/04/2016 13:25

Badger

Kafeeundkuchen · 17/04/2016 13:26

Seriously Toast? Shoot that is the name combo lol! I don't watch wrestling so wasn't copying! Hmm, may have to chat to DH if we have a boy Grin!

Brock = Badger :(

AntiquityUbiquity · 17/04/2016 13:30

Vengeful villain Tommy Brock the badger from Peter Rabbit which is all over Cbeebies!

Kafeeundkuchen · 17/04/2016 13:30

Thanks herewegoagain that's true.
Luckily I actually love Badgers, our largest (surviving) carnivore etc...
Name choosing is such a minefield lol! Grin luckily I have a while to go so can keep chiming our minds of we need to....

I liked this name but could imagine the Brock-the-cock name calling at secondary, so we didn't use it.

It does mean badger, but so what?

Itinerary · 17/04/2016 13:33

Badger or surname.

NeedACleverNN · 17/04/2016 13:34

Pokemon Grin

AntsMarching · 17/04/2016 13:37

I grew up with a Brock. He was the coolest guy, so by default I associate that name with cool guys.

Kafeeundkuchen · 17/04/2016 13:37

Yes hadn't thought of that Indand. Yeah I'm with you on the Badger so what bit. It's interesting to hear views though.

I like Brock, also how about Breck or Brecken?

RavioliOnToast · 17/04/2016 13:48

I just remember the guy from Pokemon.

BertrandRussell · 17/04/2016 13:52

Why would you use the name of a pretty savage carnivore for a lovely gentle fun little boy? And bear in mind that he will be a little boy for a fleeting moment of his life......

OublietteBravo · 17/04/2016 13:55

I met one on holiday last year - he was DS's age (so 10).

I instantly associated Brock with badger, but DH didn't and neither did the DC.

honeysucklejasmine · 17/04/2016 13:57

I would say Pokemon too. Or assume you're American.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 17/04/2016 13:57

I immediately think of Brock Lesnar. I even say it in the same voice as Paul Hayman.

Nice name though.

tabulahrasa · 17/04/2016 13:58

My Brock...

Pipbin · 17/04/2016 13:58

Badgers and Pokémon.

I like it as a name though.
