Dh loves Heidi I'm not 100% on it but have no other names in mind. It was supposed to be dd2s name but we changed mind at last minute .

What is your honest opinion on Heidi ? Be brutally honest please baby is due in 2 and a half weeks so need a name asap.

In the book, it's short for Adelheid. I'll be honest, I think Heidi's a baby name, not something an adult would want.

hollyisalovelyname · 18/04/2016 07:37

Heidi Klum is doing ok with it Sabine.

I love it. I'm quite used to it though, a family member has the name. If you don't love it don't use it- never mind worrying about what other people think. Do you have a name that you love?

Thanks for all the replys baby will be here any day now .
Still no closer to a name , I must admit I'm referring to her as heidi but I still have some doubts Blush

I know an adult and a child Heidi.
Suits them both. I also know a Bridie and love that too (not twins though - Heidi and Bridie!)

I like it. I'm Swiss, so for me the name is a bit stereotypical.

I personally prefer Adelheid or Adelaide and Heidi as a nn. But Heidi is also cute and strong enough as a stand alone name.
However, there are a whole lot of associations with this name all over the world (goats, mean aunts, the alps, a catchy song...) If you're ok with that then it's a gorgeous name:)!

Pieceofpurplesky
Bridie is a real 'old lady' name in Ireland.
Usually a nickname for Bridget.
I can't believe it's coming back into fashion. Smile

DerelictMyBalls · 20/04/2016 15:17

Heidi is a cute name, IMO.

Grufalosfriend · 20/04/2016 17:02

I don't like it much, sorry.

CruCru · 20/04/2016 17:20

A Heidi once punched me in the face. So I don't much like it.

CruCru · 20/04/2016 17:20

I love Hannah.

pieceofpurplesky · 20/04/2016 22:06

Holly well Mabel, Edith and Ethel are all being used today - so I guess Bridie is similar - it reminds me of Catherine Cookson films my mum used to watch after reading the books!
Cute though

I love it! It's one of the names for my fantasy triplets (they are girls of course, as I've already had 5 girls!). Her sisters would be called Elke and Clementine. I'm 44 and I've been sterilised, so I guess this is a long shot Grin.

It's also the name of my future sil. At least I hope it is, she's lovely
