Thinking of a girls name is exceptionally hard for me!!! This is my latest thought but dh not convinced- does it just make you think of princesses genie? I like that it's quite strong and could be ahortened to Ginny. Honest opinions welcome!! Thank you!!

"Eugenics, the social movement claiming to improve the genetic features of human populations through selective breeding and sterilization, based on the idea that it is possible to distinguish between superior and inferior elements of society,"

Thundercrackers · 24/07/2015 13:18

Bloody autocorrect!!!!! I meant Eugenie not eugenics! Is this fate trying to steer me away? Sorry everyone who thought I might have just suggested the worst baby girls name possibly ever ... ????

SirChenjin · 24/07/2015 13:18

Do you mean Eugenie? Eugenic means something pretty horrific

GiddyOnZackHunt · 24/07/2015 13:18

Please god that's a typo for Eugenie?

noblegiraffe · 24/07/2015 13:18

I believe the Nazis were a fan.

exexpat · 24/07/2015 13:18

I very much hope that is autocorrect for Eugenie.

Definition of eugenics (as favoured by the Nazis and others): eugenics.

SylvanianCaliphate · 24/07/2015 13:18

I hope this is a typo or wind up.....

HazleNutt · 24/07/2015 13:18

Not a typo? Then it makes me think on Eugenics.

SirChenjin · 24/07/2015 13:18

Grin Glad you cleared that one up!

cedricsneer · 24/07/2015 13:19

Um, is this a joke? If not, you may want to google eugenics. Did you mean Eugenie?

Ps ah... It's just autocorrected to Eugenic Grin. Sorry op. Fwiw I like Eugenie!

JennyOnTheBlocks · 24/07/2015 13:19

i rarely venture onto these threads, but please

don't be so bloody ridiculous

check a dictionary

SylvanianCaliphate · 24/07/2015 13:19

Ah, phew!

Thundercrackers · 24/07/2015 13:19

I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!!! (Think Eugenie is now officially dead in the water, dh was right!)

OP posts:
HazleNutt · 24/07/2015 13:19

But I have to say that Eugenie always makes me think of eugenics anyway. Or that princess. Neither particularly good associations to have, IMO.

Floggingmolly · 24/07/2015 13:20

Eugenic is not a name. Eugenie or Eugene are names. There are millions of names out there; why pick a random word to use as a name??

SylvanianCaliphate · 24/07/2015 13:20

Probably best to avoid the name too as the correction clearly boils blood Grin

Yarp · 24/07/2015 13:21

Ooops!

I agree- maybe don't choose Eugenie if autocorrect can bugger it up so comprehensively Grin

Also, Beatrice and Eugenie - those two useless offspring of a useless pair of Royals?

What about:

Genevieve - could be Ginny too?
Juliet
Julia
Elodie

PercyGherkin · 24/07/2015 13:21

I think "Eugenique" is prettier for a girl

X posts!

Thundercrackers · 24/07/2015 13:22

Er, am shuffling off to ask mumsnet to delete this pointless thread pronto - am so embarrassed!!

TrojanWhore · 24/07/2015 13:22

A classic example of why people should to RTFT!

Or in this case, the first three posts, but which time OP had a) explained which name she actually meant and b) apologised profusely for the auto-correct

Yarp · 24/07/2015 13:23

Thunder

Nah, it's funny

What do you think of my names?
