Thinking of a girls name is exceptionally hard for me!!! This is my latest thought but dh not convinced- does it just make you think of princesses genie? I like that it's quite strong and could be ahortened to Ginny. Honest opinions welcome!! Thank you!!

Aww bless you thunder - what a mistake! I don't think you'll be able to name your daughter Eugenie now thanks to this thread! :)

Iwanttobeadog · 24/07/2015 14:41

Ha ha ha

I really like Eugenie

IAmAPaleontologist · 24/07/2015 14:46

I don't think it was entirely unreasonable not to assume it was an autocorrect fail from the start, hormones do strange things to people. [[http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/local/all-news/dream-girl-named-after-dream-m-1-1080837 this is one that comes up when conversations turn to odd baby names in toddler groups around this region!]

TopCivilServant · 24/07/2015 14:46

Hahahaha! Grin awesome thread!
On topic I prefer Juliet to Eugenie.

IAmAPaleontologist · 24/07/2015 14:46

doh!

PunkrockerGirl · 24/07/2015 14:50

Don't be embarrassed, OP, it's given us a laugh on this horrid rainy day Grin

I quite like Eugenie and Juliet not helpful.

mrslol · 24/07/2015 14:52

This is one of the best autocorrect fails ever, sorry OP!

Preminstreltension · 24/07/2015 14:56

I can't begin to work out the negatives in this sentence Grin

If not Eugenic, Aryan sounds nice Wink

chrome100 · 24/07/2015 14:58

Ha ha.

No.

CakeRattleandRoll · 24/07/2015 15:17

Agree that it's probably best to avoid names where autocorrect has so much potential to cause embarrassment / offence / horror.

The most obvious name to get Genie nn is surely Jean?

exexpat · 24/07/2015 15:18

Preminstrel - there is actually a boy called Aryan in DD's class. I think it's a popular name for boys in India, just has rather different connotations in Europe.

mamaswabey · 24/07/2015 15:24

How about Jeanette? Could be shortened to Ginny/Genie/Jeannie...

badg3r · 24/07/2015 15:30

Thanks Thunder, this thread made me laugh! damn auto-correct. Fwiw, I love Eugenie.

MamaLazarou · 24/07/2015 17:08

Bless you, OP!

There was seriously a poster who was planning to call her kid Aryan, though. That was a fun thread.
