Nina: Urgent opinions needed

What do people think of Nina? Is it popular at the moment? I love it but I'm a hormonal wreck so don't trust my own judgement right now. I regretted out last name choice after the hormones cleared. Help me hive mind!

Love it, but dh hates it so it's a no for us. Not popular as far as I know.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 27/04/2015 12:40

I like it, it's bright and snappy and kind of ... clean sounding, against lots of mimsy fussy names. I know one, who is eight or nine, and whose two younger siblings also have names that I adore: Josephine and Emil. Is that any help?

GlowWine · 27/04/2015 12:42

Love it, know two, one 12 and one 3. Both with non-British parents.

TheRealMaryMillington · 27/04/2015 12:44

I have a Nina who is 8.
I only know of one other young, who is also 8 and born on the same day!
The other Ninas I know are amazing powerful women in their 50s.
It's not in the top 100.

LionWings · 27/04/2015 12:56

It's beautiful

CrispyFern · 27/04/2015 12:56

Love it.

KneeQuestion · 27/04/2015 13:01

Lovely.

Blahia · 27/04/2015 13:05

Great name. Not used much at the moment, but also not very 80s or 90s or anything like that. It's actually a great name! :)

MishMooshAndMogwai · 27/04/2015 13:06

Love it!

Lambbone · 27/04/2015 13:08

Lovely.

Pretty without being pretty-pretty.

My best friend was going to use it if she'd had a girl (two sons later....)

HeyMicky · 27/04/2015 13:09

My mum's name - she's bonkers Grin

But the other two I know, 1 adult and 1 child, are both super - clever, funny, determined. Great name!

SophyStantonLacy · 27/04/2015 13:10

I have a Nina who is 6. I love it. We have once met another Nina at a playground but otherwise have never been any others around. If you look on the darker greener app it was given to 279 babies last year, where Amelia was given to 5570 babies, so no I wouldn't call it popular.

AndWhenYouGetThere · 27/04/2015 13:12

Perfect balance of a name.

I love it. It sounds crap with our surname or it would have been top of my list.

Griftymoo · 27/04/2015 13:14

I love it but my dh didn't so we didn't go for it in the end, but I think it's a classic and beautiful name and isn't overly popular.

Viviennemary · 27/04/2015 13:15

There's nothing wrong with it at all but I can't say I'm very keen on it personally. I don't hate it but just think there are a lot nicer names out there. But it's all a matter of opinion as lots of people love the name.

pnutter · 27/04/2015 13:16

Really love it

PutWittyUsernameHere · 27/04/2015 13:16

It's a gorgeous name. I like it for the same reason I like Anna; feminine without being cutesy, works for all ages, and is just quite an elegant name. Not over-popular either.

BunnyLebowski · 27/04/2015 13:18

Lone voice of dissent here. I really dislike it. It manages to sound both harsh and plain to me.

TheLastThneed · 27/04/2015 13:21

I love Nina. I think it's a really pretty name

PutWittyUsernameHere · 27/04/2015 13:47

Dammit, Bunny, I thought mn was going to have its first ever unanimous baby name thread...

Grin
Woozlebear · 27/04/2015 14:04

I love it. Was always going to use it but then knew an incredible annoying girl called it and it ruined it for me for ever. Hmm

Do it!

timelyreminder · 27/04/2015 14:32

Lovely name

orangepudding · 27/04/2015 14:34

I really don't like it.
