I'm an expert in that particular problem Wink

From our shortlists, including our DSs:

Adam
Alexander
Arthur
Charles
Christopher (Kit)
David
Edward
Henry (Harry)
Max
Oliver
Robert
Tristan
William

We felt we couldn't go too crazy (eg Marmaduke) or too Welsh (because we aren't Welsh or in Wales). Cutting out all the J names too didn't leave us with much!

Good luck.

Lunastarfish · 25/04/2015 13:24

My randon selection for you!

Sebastian
Rory
Louis
Dominic
Raphael
Brodie
Lucas
Bailey
Leon

MrsHathaway · 25/04/2015 13:26

That is, congratulations!

SurlyCue · 25/04/2015 13:29

Ok what names do you like? Kind of hard to suggest names without having an idea of your tastes/heritage etc.

pelicancrossing · 25/04/2015 13:29

Rory
Arthur
Nate
Seth
Barnaby
Declan
Walt
Oliver
Do any of these suit him? Congratulations!

i did have max. but then i put myself of...then i had elliott... but then i dont pronounce the 't' so it dont sound right...

i have hayden in my head or maybe leaning back towards max... dont know :/

Elliot jones is quite nice i think. Is it just that the t isn't pronounced in your accent?

GirlInTheDirtyShirt · 25/04/2015 13:44

Lucas is a lovely name and goes well with Jones.

MrsHathaway · 25/04/2015 13:49

Hayden is very much not my style. I think Max has a much broader appeal and is much more like Elliott in style.

Dexter? Finn? Lucas?

MrsHathaway · 25/04/2015 13:50

Cross posted - thinking slowly...

SoupDragon · 25/04/2015 13:50

If you like Hayden, how about Aidan.

I was mentally running through the boys in my children's classes and thought of Thomas... Maybe not with Jones as a surname :)

ajandjjmum · 25/04/2015 13:50

We had a JJ (Junior surname) for the first six weeks of his life (infact for the first two years, although we had to make a decision when he was registered!).

We actually settled on Max.

Don't stress - it'll work out. (And 20 odd years later, we still love Max!!)

ghostspirit · 25/04/2015 14:01

cue i dont know what it is. i guess im common maybe a southeast london thing for some.

i really like the name thomas... but yeah thats why i wont use it :)

Aubrey, Caleb, Dominic, Gregory, Isaac, Linus, Richard, Solomon, Wilbur.

emotionsecho · 25/04/2015 14:14

Dominic Jones sounds nice, if you're going for Max are you using the full Maximillian? Maximillian Jones rolls off the tongue nicely!

timelyreminder · 25/04/2015 14:15

Ethan
Daniel
Zachary
Ciaran
Alfred (Freddie, Alfie)
Aaron
Luke
Matthew

IvoryMadonna · 25/04/2015 14:22

If you like Max, and surname-type names like Elliott, how about Baxter (like Baxter Dury). Baxter Jones. That's quite unusual without being 'out there'.

ghostspirit · 25/04/2015 14:35

haha secho i did not know there was more to max... i thought max was max haha.

but if i decided max it would be max.

emotionsecho · 25/04/2015 14:50

ghost I was just imagining you using the full "Maximillian Jones" in your best exasperated voice it would sound awesome and certainly guarantee a responseGrin

ghostspirit · 25/04/2015 14:58

haha i would sound a twat haha :)

timelyreminder · 25/04/2015 15:00
