What do you think? I think I love it, but am fully aware it won't be everybody's cup of tea :o/

We have a very common surname, which it does nicely with.

Lovely. Different but not unfamiliar. Go for it.

LikeABadSethRogenMovie · 31/01/2015 22:11

I have a Dusty! At risk of outing myself, it's really her middle name but it's just kind of stuck and really suits her now she's heading for her teens!

CountingThePennies · 31/01/2015 22:13

Dusty???

Hey Dusty! You look like you need a good dusting!

Absolutely the stupidest name i have ever heard

LovelyMarchHare · 31/01/2015 22:14

I have always assumed it's a nickname tho for what I don't know . Is it not? Tbh I'm not sure.

Iwillorderthefood · 31/01/2015 22:14

Really? How would it go down if she turned out to want to be a lawyer, or a profession where she may need a serious name? I think I am just in the not my cup of tea camp.

Nolim · 31/01/2015 22:15

Please no.

KatherinaMinola · 31/01/2015 22:15

That's so great Grin It doesn't pass the high court judge test though - presumably that doesn't bother you.

TigerSheep · 31/01/2015 22:16

I like it, but I'd want a more formal name that it could be a derivative of. Justine?

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 31/01/2015 22:17

Dusty crophopper? The film was only out last year. Dusty just isn't a name is it? It's a nickname

CurlyWurlyCake · 31/01/2015 22:18

In the nicest possible way.

No.

Dusty bin
Busty Dusty
Musty Dusty

IHeartKingThistle · 31/01/2015 22:18

It's terrible.

There is a very prominent Dusty in the industry I work in - which is professional, well paid, serious etc.

If you love it, go for it!

LovelyMarchHare · 31/01/2015 22:24

Art at Busty Dusty. Poor thing.

Just checked wiki about Dusty Springfield. She got her name from playing football in the streets .......

AuntieStella · 31/01/2015 22:25

It's a traditional nickname for anyone whose surname is Miller, and I'd vaguely expect it to be a boy.

calzone · 31/01/2015 22:26

Tis awful.

Really awful.

Not a name I would want for myself.

satsumasunrise · 31/01/2015 22:31

Horrendous.

squoosh · 31/01/2015 22:32

I adore Dusty Springfield, one of the very best female vocalists. The yearning and heartache she could convey.............

But I definitely wouldn't call a child Dusty.

CaptainJamesTKirk · 31/01/2015 22:32

Dusty Crophopper... Please don't do that to a child.

Ineedanewone · 31/01/2015 22:34

My dog is called Dusty! People love it.

storytopper · 31/01/2015 22:36

Couldn't imagine calling a baby this, or a five-year old, or a ten-year old, or anyone really.

Might work for a dachshund or a hamster.

Sorry, OP.

Dusty is not a name. Have a word with yourself.

squoosh · 31/01/2015 22:42

Hadn't thought of this 'classic' TV show in ages.

I appreciate that I am of a certain generation, but I think of this...
