I've had a quid on Richard at 40/1. The name has been in the news so they are bound to have thought of it. There is the Duke of Gloucester, but he's in his 70s and hasn't been called Prince Richard since 1974, so I doubt that would be seen as a problem.

Izzy24 · 03/04/2015 12:58

Marina
Louis

Bifald · 03/04/2015 14:34

I'd like to see them use Richard.

When Charles and Diana chose Harry/henry it was not used at all and they brought it back in to fashion. I like Richie. Georgie and Richie would be less stuffy and Royal than George and Richard.

Marina is lovely. There is a bold Royal called Marina though.

NormaSwilley · 03/04/2015 14:44

Marina Ogilvy? I think there's a Marina among the younger Kents too.

NormaSwilley · 03/04/2015 14:48

Just checked - yes, one of the Duke of Kent's grandchildren is Lady Marina Charlotte Windsor (b. 1992). The DoK's mother was Princess Marina of Greece, so it's very much a family name for the Kents.

eggsclamation · 03/04/2015 19:11

I think a boy will be Edward or Arthur.

A girl will be Alexandra or Victoria or possibly Alice.

C0w · 03/04/2015 19:31

Arthur and Matilda are so Middleton . Nothing wrong with being a Middleton but they are so middle-class sounding. Arthur and Matilda are off to baby signing. Matilda is lactose intolerant. Arthur is a model for Boden you know!
they have to come up with something less self-consciously middle class than Arthur and Matilda!

C0w · 03/04/2015 19:32

and I think they'd want to avoid the pressing saying that Carole had chosen the names?!

LineRunner · 03/04/2015 19:32

Majestica

mathanxiety · 03/04/2015 19:33

Sort of sticking with what I said upthread:
Alice Elizabeth Caroline
Charlotte Victoria Elizabeth
Sophia Frances Margaret

Charles Christian Michael
Edward Philip Arthur
Frederick Albert John

Maybe Helena, Adelaide or Anne thrown in there. Or even Ruth or Arabella

MaraThonbar · 03/04/2015 21:35

I'm astonished by the number of Albert predictions.

The nation could very well die laughing at the announcement of a Prince Albert.

LottieMumofWilfJenkins · 03/04/2015 21:55

Richard or David
Alice, Charlotte or Rose

Dukketeater · 03/04/2015 22:15

I'm saying Charlotte or Louis

0ldF0x · 03/04/2015 22:16

yes! I think we can safely rule out Albert

LicoriceComfit · 03/04/2015 22:42

Caroline Elizabeth Diana

James charles michael

NadiaWadia · 04/04/2015 03:50

Eleanor would be nice, and there have been Queens called Eleanor before (though not for at least 500 years I think). Why do they always have to stick to the more recent royal names - ("recent" meaning since Queen Victoria Smile)? Eleanor is classic, has been popular again for about 25 years now, and is quite 'safe' so probably the sort of name W&K would like.

MythicalChicken · 04/04/2015 06:46

I just love the name Marina.

I did think Louis, but maybe that would be considered a bit political, given what happened to him?

ChristmasEveSteve · 04/04/2015 08:27

I agree, Eleanor is pretty much perfect for them. I keep seeing my daughters name mentioned, I hope they dont use it!

BunnyCake · 04/04/2015 08:37

Anyone know what the bookie's favourite prediction for Prince George was? Was it George?

ButterflyOfFreedom · 04/04/2015 10:03

I was going to say Charlotte or James though have now ruled out James having found out it Kate's brothers name...
so maybe Albert.
Or Robert.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 04/04/2015 11:30

Why are people saying no to Albert?
Albi or Bertie is cute and there was of course Victoria & Albert...

NormaSwilley · 04/04/2015 12:09

Google "Prince Albert" and you will soon find out. Wink

Koalafications · 04/04/2015 12:17

Grin @ Prince Albert

MaraThonbar · 04/04/2015 12:19

Oh, Butterfly. OK.

A 'Prince Albert' is a male genital piercing, where the bar or ring is pierced from the underside of the glans to the urethral opening.

Sorry. You did ask.

Titsalinabumsquash · 04/04/2015 12:21

My name (first followed by middle!) has been mentioned so many times, I'm not a fan of it, hopefully if the new baby is a princess and they use those names she'll like them more than I do Grin
