Something dull. Just like the lot of them. Another workshy scrounger to pay for.

aoife24 · 02/04/2015 19:05

I think maybe Alice for a girl, lovely, lovely name.

ReggieJones · 02/04/2015 19:11

Alice or Victoria for a girl.

I think Albert or Alfred would be cool for a boy but not sure what they'll go for.

I think they're unlikely to use any first name of a living family member as a first name for this so Henry, James, Edward etc are all out. Although family names will probably feature as middle names for boy or girl.

ChristmasEveSteve · 02/04/2015 21:03

Charlotte Frances Elizabeth or Alice Frances Elizabeth
Phillip Arthur James or Phillip Henry James

NormaSwilley · 02/04/2015 23:55

My selections are

Prince Alfred
Princess Mary Elizabeth

Alfred is 66/1 which I think is tremendous value, given that Alfie is very fashionable now, and there are none currently in the RF.

you say that gemerama but they actually noted that George dropped in popularity after they used it, so you never know!

clr2014 · 03/04/2015 07:33

Gemerama, friends of ours had a baby boy the same day as Kate and named him George. It was days later that William and Kate announced their name as George. I felt so sorry for our friends as it will forever look like they copied when in fact they announced their name first...!

I'm going for my favourite, which is Winifred. It's unlikely isn't it.

Enigmatist · 03/04/2015 07:52

Princess Consuela Bananahammock.

PontyGirl · 03/04/2015 09:03

Grin and crapbag for a boy enig

dangerrabbit · 03/04/2015 09:14

How about something old english, like Alfred or Matilda?

Or indeed Egbert or Aethelwulf.

MamaLazarou · 03/04/2015 10:28

Boy: James

Girl: Charlotte

NormaSwilley · 03/04/2015 11:41

I doubt their choice will have any effect on popularity of the name. They will almost certainly go for something that is quite popular already. And if they do pick something a bit different, it probably won't have much effect. I expected Beatrice to take off when the Yorks' daughter was named, but it didn't. And for all the popularity of Princess Diana, very few people named babies after her.

RL20 · 03/04/2015 11:54

Clr2014 I also know of a couple that had already chosen the name George before Kate and William did! They were completely set on the name and had their baby just before Kate did. So they also had people assuming they had chosen it because of them!
I'm now due in just over 2 weeks which is supposedly around Kate's due date. I'm expecting a boy and have made a bet with myself that she's having a boy too, only based on her having the same symptoms etc and carrying pretty much the same as she did with George.
I'm not a Royal follower at all but will be interesting to me just because were due around the same time.

Girl - Emily or Amelia
Boy - Oliver

MythicalChicken · 03/04/2015 12:00

Prince Louis Charles Henry. It's a boy, I believe?

MyDHhasnomemory · 03/04/2015 12:08

Why do you say that? They have not even announced the actual due date never mind the gender.

NormaSwilley · 03/04/2015 12:18

There's no way they'd name him Oliver. Shock

RL20 · 03/04/2015 12:31

Why do you say that Norma?

NormaSwilley · 03/04/2015 12:43

Oliver Cromwell

ChristmasEveSteve · 03/04/2015 12:43

Oliver Cromwell...

ChristmasEveSteve · 03/04/2015 12:45

Oliver Cromwell is not my guess by the way, is in response to the question above!

I don't think they will but I would love them to chose Richard.

MythicalChicken · 03/04/2015 12:47

The DM (sorry) were talking about the new 'Prince' the other day...

RL20 · 03/04/2015 12:50

But his mother was Elizabeth, what does it matter? Lol Grin
There's also been suggestions of Henry (as a middle name), and one of his sons was Henry.
But I suppose you're right, I bet there is a whole list of names that they aren't allowed to use
