Hairspray was my first thought.....a brother for seaweed??

HollyBen · 01/09/2014 18:32

Another definite no to Link. I think Lincoln could be a grower

ikeaismylocal · 01/09/2014 18:39

I like it! But I'm possibly not the right reason to ask as I'm pregnant and hormonal and in all seriousness suggested the name acorn to dp this afternoon.

Wossname · 01/09/2014 18:45

Makes me think of Linc from Prison Break and also California Man. Heard worse.

DoctorLawn · 01/09/2014 18:48

Made me think of California Man too!

Mind you, nothing wrong with a bit of Brendan Fraser...

Not keen on Link, I have to say - but it's not my baby. Go with what you want, nickname opportunities come up with most names.

WhoeverYouWantMeToBe · 01/09/2014 19:08

Not for me. Have to say quite like Lincoln and then Linc as a nickname but not "link" in itself.

SouthernComforts · 01/09/2014 19:10

Linc in prison break is my perfect man. Mmmmmm.

F0ssil · 01/09/2014 19:11

Missing Link made me laugh.

awfulomission · 01/09/2014 19:11

Really, no. I think of the missing link.

Lincoln is good-Link, no.

F0ssil · 01/09/2014 19:12

Do you mean Schofield Southerncomforts?

SouthernComforts · 01/09/2014 19:20

Both Fossil. Or either. I'm not fussy Grin

I prefer Linc though.

Castlemilk · 01/09/2014 19:21

PIGS INNNNN SPAAAAAACE - starring LINK HOGTHROB and DR. STRANGEPORK!

... was my first thought Grin

WandaDoff · 01/09/2014 19:41

Muddy Brendan Fraser in a loincloth.....
I loved that film.

Sorry what was the question?

Andcake · 01/09/2014 19:47

Zelda fan so yes go for it Grin

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 01/09/2014 19:51

Another Zelda fan (middle name for this one if it's a girl!) saying yes! As a middle name.

Link the Stink is a bullies dream!

PamShoo · 01/09/2014 19:52

Link is a bit 'out there' - It's a name I like but wouldn't use, wouldn't have the guts to. Could you give him a different name (which he could use in adult life if wanted) but use Link at home/school in the meantime?

TSSDNCOP · 01/09/2014 19:57

No. It's stupid name for a child, unless you want the first sound very person throughout his life makes on being introduced to him to be "Eh?".

FatherSpodoKomodo · 01/09/2014 20:00

I'm a Zelda fan too, so would immediately think of that. I quite like it. (And DS1 who's also really into Zelda said "Cool. He'd be a hero.")

WaffleWiffle · 01/09/2014 20:09

It's akin to calling him "Hashtag"

Hakluyt · 01/09/2014 20:37

Hashtag- with Hash as a shortening. What's wrong with that??

Sophronia · 02/09/2014 01:26

I only like Link/Linc short for Lincoln.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 02/09/2014 17:55

Nice and different but a bit too risky for my liking.

Another Zelda fan and I actually clicked on this thread hoping there'd be suggestions (other than Lincoln!) that would enable me to call a possible son Link as a nn. It's not a proper first name to me though, sorry.

enderwoman · 03/09/2014 11:49

If you have any other family members with the same association (a daughter called Zelda or a pet called Navi or something) then no way but other wise I think it's a possible grower. I'm not a hardcore gamer /sci-fi fan who considered Gordon (Freeman) , Ellen Ripley, Leia (Organa), Luke (Skywalker) as baby names.
