I now have a gorgeous DD but no name

So we had one name only, no back up (doh!), and now my DD has arrived. Sadly our one name can't be used for reasons I shan't bore you with. So we need a girl name. Feel awful calling her baby!

Names that are being considered are:

Miri
Mia
Lana/Lani
As a by the by I like Ottilie and Leonie but dh thinks they're a 'bit much' for his taste.

Names I love but can't use are Ella, Kate, Sadie.

I'd love your opinion on these/suggestions for others of a similar ilk? Would be grateful if you could be gentle - this name business has been an emotional roller coaster so far...

alita7 · 15/05/2014 10:03

miriam can be miri or mia?

CrispyFern · 15/05/2014 10:06

Not Mia, it's really popular in some places. I know about seven under three! Then there are the Mayas and Myas too.

Miri is nice.

BuntyCollocks · 15/05/2014 13:03

Our new little niece arrived and is called Nylah. Love it.

burgatroyd · 15/05/2014 13:41

If you like Mia and Ella how about Mariella, as in Mariella Frostup?

burgatroyd · 15/05/2014 13:42

Love Lana and try not to spell it backwards in my mind...

AWombWithoutARoof · 15/05/2014 13:57

I love Miri, also Miranda and Miriam. I know of a Mire, pronounced Mee-ra.

Not keen on Lana and IMO Mia is a little popular.

peppinagiro · 15/05/2014 14:18

Actually, I've changed my mind on Lana. I just looked at it again and thought 'wool'. Cos that's the Italian for wool.

AMI88 · 15/05/2014 14:22

I like Minnie x
