Jayden Lee or Mason ??

Hi this is my first baby and I've been unsure on names since day 1!!

These two have stuck with me for a while all though I do keep going on and off both! I don't have a middle name for Mason yet, as I can't think of any, so ideas are welcome!

But I do like it and Jayden Lee isn't a double barrelled name or anything he'll just be called Jayden, but I just like the sound of lee with it :)

What do you think, I wasn't too sure if these were 'chavvy' or 'common' names !

Neither.

ENormaSnob · 25/03/2014 10:45

Use both and have jason.

Badvoc · 25/03/2014 10:47

^ that is fricking genius! :)

laregina · 25/03/2014 10:47

I don't like either - sorry. And I don't like to use the terms 'chavvy' or 'common' - but since you did Wink I would say 'yes' to both....

Nataleejah · 25/03/2014 10:56

Just Lee

KatieHoppkins · 25/03/2014 11:07

I don't like either of them.

stuckindamiddle · 25/03/2014 11:17

No to Lee aswell.

GiniCooper · 25/03/2014 11:25

Wow everlong I was thinking the same thing myself...

JonathanGirl · 25/03/2014 11:26

I don't like either of them (though I have known some lovely little boys called Mason)
I also prefer Jason, or Aidan.

badtime · 25/03/2014 14:14

If you like Jayden, I think the original Biblical spelling, 'Jadon', is considered less 'chavvy' by some people.

I personally don't like it because it is too common, as in widespread (rather than common as in a euphemism for chavvy).

fussychica · 25/03/2014 17:20

Aiden - much classier than Jayden.

meditrina · 25/03/2014 17:25

Of the two, I prefer Mason.

UriGeller · 25/03/2014 17:30

Yes they both are. I'm absolutely sure you can do better than that. There are loads of baby name websites, all with hundreds of names and their meanings.

Unless of course you really like them, in which case, don't listen to anyone else, stop asking people's opinions and keep it to yourself until registration time.

stuckindamiddle · 25/03/2014 17:32

I like Aidan and James as suggested.

2sugarsmeans3 · 25/03/2014 17:37

If you're set on picking one of those names, I'd say Mason James.
But there are so many names if you're not sure, just keep looking.

DrSeuss · 25/03/2014 17:41

Aidan and James are lovely, as are Joseph, Matthew and Andrew.

ParkingFred · 25/03/2014 17:43

Jayden Lee breaks all the MN rules. It's the epitome of the ch..... word we mustn't use.

Mason is not much better.

girlynut · 25/03/2014 17:45

Don't like either. Sorry but I do think they sound 'chavy' as you put it. Aidan or Hayden are nice though.

MirabileDictu · 25/03/2014 17:48

Oh dear. I'm afraid you would be setting your child up for a lifetime of prejudice with chavvy (sorry) names like that. Mine have names which are regarded by the MN jury as ludicrously snooty, though I think it's easier to live with that (esp in the company they keep, where all the children have similarly ludicrous names). If in doubt, it's perhaps best to play it safe with (eg) James, Myles, Joseph and so on...

Confusedaboutstatements · 25/03/2014 17:48

stuckinthemiddle I agree. Aidan James is a lovely name, DS1 agrees also Wink

ProfondoRosso · 25/03/2014 17:49

Jay is a nice name. I kind of feel Jason is due a resurgence - it's a good name when you think about it in terms of Argonauts, not Donovan Wink

I cannot get on board with Mason. In my mind it's always followed by Boyne.

dozily · 25/03/2014 18:03

I always thought Jayden sounded chavvy until I actually knew one, then I just thought of that one nice boy, not the bad associations if you see what I mean?

I reckon stick with it if you like it, but possibly consider a different spelling. Someone upthread said there's a biblical name Jadon - sounds the same but more traditional.

What do your dp, friends and family think ?

gymboywalton · 25/03/2014 18:11

super scally names sorry

Fucking hell this thread....

OP unless you choose Araminta or Clement, your name choices will always be 'chavvy' on here.

I much prefer Jayden and Mason to Clement and Ignatius and other MN faces.
