Jayden Lee or Mason ??

Hi this is my first baby and I've been unsure on names since day 1!!

These two have stuck with me for a while all though I do keep going on and off both! I don't have a middle name for Mason yet, as I can't think of any, so ideas are welcome!

But I do like it and Jayden Lee isn't a double barrelled name or anything he'll just be called Jayden, but I just like the sound of lee with it :)

What do you think, I wasn't too sure if these were 'chavvy' or 'common' names !

OP posts:

No Derek I am not saying that. I am saying that I have negative associations with that name, therefore I consider it common/chavvy.

I am replying to the OPs question.

But carry on frothing :)

I'm not backtracking and I don't think I have anything to apologise for! Grin

Noappointmentnecessary · 30/03/2014 21:40

Niether!

FastWindow · 30/03/2014 21:41

Hey, congratulations, op.

I was told when I shared my intended name for a boy, that he would 'never amount to anything with status Eg manager' because his name is a nickname.

Think Billy instead of William.

Err... Bill Gates? Steve Jobs? Kate Middleton? although they've started calling her Catherine which gives me the rage a little

If you like it-use it.

Hey derek i hear Jelly Hoppen does alright for herself.

Names can date a person. They shouldn't do more than that.

Unless of course you really were to call your son Ben, Mrs D o v e r.

I knew a Joanne King, once. She didn't have a brother called Wayne

It would be AWESOME to be called Jelly. I am well-jel

Buttermybum or whatever your name is, is your RL name, in your words, "chavvy"? Is that why your so bitter?

I'm common as the clap but my name conjures up images of a babbling brook in a flower-strewn meadow. Bet you wouldn't give me the time of day at the school.gates.

Ah sorry Derek. You did throw a heavy hint in there. Was giving you a 'you go girl' style of thing on the job front Smile

Sorry for calling you a girl, too. And the cringey sisterhood high five vibe I appear to be channelling just stop posting arggh

Oh hardy har har Smile

I do love Will. But I wouldn't... You know. He looks like he sweats a lot. unfair

BuddyButters · 30/03/2014 22:20

No elQuinto my RL name is actually what would generally regarded as classic, even quite posh! Sorry about that Grin

I'm not bitter at all, especially now I've read your brilliantly witty and clever take on my username! Really very funny Grin

I'm sure I'd speak to you at the school gates regardless of your name. You see, not speaking to someone because of their name is very different to having certain associations with a name. Who knows, if you were particularly nice I might even form positive associations with your name even if they'd previously been negative :)

I have a K name too Derek, and ds1 has a skin head, a name that teachers on here have said is a naughty boy name and hes working on a full sleeve tattoo.

How he managed to do well at school and college, get a job and be doing a degree in electrical machanical engineering ill never know.

It seems he will never be a judge though Sad

Theonlyoneiknow · 30/03/2014 22:50

My DS will never,be a high court judge either if everything said on here is true! I had never heard of such tosh until MN baby names

SpocksThirdEar · 30/03/2014 23:01

My DS (yes, he is a Jayden) is 15 and I frequently remind him that he will never be a high court judge just in case he gets ideas above his station.

Luckily he doesn't actually want to be one so I am often faced with a perplexed look from him. But obviously it's best to keep him in his chavvy place.

I must shave his head later and get his ear pierced.

I have very oddly named children according to MN. DS1 - Jayden. DS2 - dreaded K name, also "chavvy" DS3 & 4 - naice biblical names, not too popular, not too obscure. DS5 - pretentious, try hard name.

I'm all confused and not sure whether to be a chav or middle class mother with that mix!

MoominsYonisAreScary · 31/03/2014 00:42

Grin spocks

Ds1 naughty boy namr
Ds2 american actor name
Ds3 nickname on birth certificate
Ds4&5 totally normal biblical names
