I only like Casper but would spell it Caspar.
Sorry, not keen on the others. Elmore is better than Elmer in my opinion...

Seminyak · 07/03/2014 13:09

Axel
Casper
Gustav

Elmer

sebsmummy1 · 07/03/2014 13:09

I only like Caspar too I'm afraid.

bubblegoose · 07/03/2014 13:09

Elmer
Casper
Axel
Gustav

Interesting names! (I mean that in a good way, except perhaps for Gustav).

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 07/03/2014 13:10

Sorry OP, but they are all dreadful names, unless you're German or Russian, in which case they are probably perfectly acceptable.

scarletforya · 07/03/2014 13:11

Gustav is ok.

The rest are equally awful, sorry.

EyelinerQueen · 07/03/2014 13:11

They're all equal to me.

Equally awful.

NigellasDealer · 07/03/2014 13:12

Axel, and only Axel

Sparklysilversequins · 07/03/2014 13:12

I don't like any, sorry.

RayPurchase · 07/03/2014 13:15

Only Axel. Are you in Germany?

squoosh · 07/03/2014 13:24

I'm struggling OP..............

WeeClype · 07/03/2014 13:25

Nope all as bad as each other, sorry.

IslaValargeone · 07/03/2014 13:26

I like Casper, could cope with Gus rather than Gustave.
The other two, erm, no.

HyvaPaiva · 07/03/2014 13:31

I like Gustav and Casper because I spend a lot of time in Scandinavia where they really work. I think in other places/languages they might not sound so good.

I'm afraid never in a million years would I call a person Elmer or Axel.

looki · 07/03/2014 13:36

None to my taste, if I absolutely had to choose one.....ummmm...... I can't, I really don't like any of them.

Haahoooo · 07/03/2014 13:38

Oh dear. Well I did ask I suppose...

Dutch/Swedish background here which might explain our choices.

OP posts:
MerryMarigold · 07/03/2014 13:39

If you have European heritage, then I think I could live with Gustav. And I do like Elmer a little bit. Casper, okaaaay. Axel, no way.

Casper
Elmer
Gustav
Axel

MerryMarigold · 07/03/2014 13:40

Oops. That was not my ordering. I just copy, pasted for ref.

Gustav
Elmer
Casper
Axel

RiverTam · 07/03/2014 13:41

Axel
Casper
Gustav

definitely not Elmer - that's a patchwork elephant!

squoosh · 07/03/2014 13:42

Well if you've got Swedish background that changes things OP, I'd go for Gustav. Gus is a cool nickname.

Still not fond of the others though.

Nocomet · 07/03/2014 13:43

Given background
Gustav
Casper

Axel
Elmer is an elephant, ok a very preety elephant but..

kelda · 07/03/2014 13:44

Gustaaf is my ds's middle name.

Axel was also a strong contender for us.

Not so sure about Casper, it's already sounding dated.

Elmer is just awful.

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 07/03/2014 13:44

Agree, probably perfectly acceptable in Sweden or Holland. But if you're a British family, living in Britain, albeit of Swedish/Dutch extraction, you need to consider what works here, and I'm still not sure any of them do.

BackforGood · 07/03/2014 13:47

I really don't like any of them, but think (here in UK anyway) Elmer would possibly be the worst as it is only known to belong to an elephant by most people. Sorry.
