She's here - but is she Tess, Bethan or Romilly? Help!

I thought the name would become clear once we saw her - but no. Just can't decide from our final 3 names:

  • Tess (Tessa on birth certificate)
  • Bethan (love Beth, but too Welsh?)
  • Romilly (is this too unusual?)

We would really appreciate your speedy views!

I love Romilly, you could call her Romi.

Not Tess, couldn't get past dead behind the eyes Tess Daley.

Bethan is nice but safe.

Dovahkiin · 25/02/2014 10:10

Congratulations! They are all just beautiful for a baby girl but also for an adult - great taste! Try picturing her toddling alongside you as she holds your hand, and then as a cool 17-year-old frowning over her homework or preparing to go out with her friends - which names work best then?

ummingandahhing · 25/02/2014 10:11

Can I put Bethany into the mix here?

wigglesrock · 25/02/2014 10:11

Tess is one of my favourite names ever & then I'd go for Romilly, Bethan would be a long way back but that's because I'm not a fan of Beth in general.

Thanks Brew - Congratulations, lovely lovely baby news.

She's a Tess or a Romily; definitely not a Bethan. (She's gorgeous, by the way Wink)

DramaAlpaca · 25/02/2014 10:17

Congratulations Flowers

In order of preference it would have to be Romilly, Tess, then Bethan.

goshhhhhh · 25/02/2014 10:33

Love Romilly. Wish I'd thought of it. Congratulations!

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 25/02/2014 10:35

Romilly is one of the names i've picked out.

Tessa is lovely

bootsycollins · 25/02/2014 10:37

I adore Tessa, beautiful classic name. Congratulations Thanks

florascotia · 25/02/2014 10:46

Congratulations!
I like Romilly best of your choices. (Can be nickname 'Romy'.)
Bethan nice but not 'wow factor' to me.
Traditionally, Tess and Tessa are short forms of Theresa.

Allalonenow · 25/02/2014 10:51

Romilly is beautiful, please name her that Thanks

squoosh · 25/02/2014 11:02

Tess is lovely.

Romilly always reminds me of the Field Marshall Rommell, the Nazi.

Bethan is a bit dowdy.

BikeRunSki · 25/02/2014 11:08

Tess
Was on our short list, but named her after her Grandma in the end.

ben5 · 25/02/2014 11:09

I love Tessa and Romilly. I know a Tessa in her 30's and she's lovely. I also know a Romilly whos 8 and great

HyvaPaiva · 25/02/2014 11:11

Congratulations! I like Romilly best.

VerucaInTheNutRoom · 25/02/2014 11:11

Tess or Romilly. I have never liked the name Bethan.

chainedtothedesk · 25/02/2014 11:12

Congratulations! I love the name Romilly. There was a news broadcaster on TV a lot called Romilly about the time we had our son. Had he been female he may well have been Romilly. I love unusual names and Romilly is unusual but not odd or difficult to spell. You could always shorten to Milly?

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 25/02/2014 11:14

Tessa. We have a 4yo Tessa and I still love her name. She's the only one in her school, but no one ever has a problem pronouncing it or spelling it, which they might with Romilly.

PrincessOfChina · 25/02/2014 11:16

Romilly - but I would say that as I have one! She tends to be known as Rom rather than Romy or Milly but that's her choice as she's just three and can only spell Rom!

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 25/02/2014 11:20

We're not at all biased are we Princess!

DitsyDonkey · 25/02/2014 11:56

Tessa

thegreylady · 25/02/2014 12:18

Romilly is gorgeous and she won't be one of many in the school either.

peachysweet · 25/02/2014 12:23

Tess is so lovely! Romilly a bit of a distant second. I dislike Bethany.

hatebeak · 25/02/2014 12:35

Tess, then Bethan. Both lovely.
