Fiona, Sophie, or Tess?

Love all three, and they all work well with our (very unusual and often misspelt) surname.

39 weeks yesterday and we still can't decide... probably going to wait till she arrives and see what she looks like Grin

Please don't say 'there are too many Sophies' as I have a huge circle of children in my life through friends/family/church etc and NOT ONE of them is named Sophie.

Fiona

Love Sophie. Fiona makes me think of Shrek.

1nsertnamehere · 20/12/2013 16:29

Love love love Tess. That's a name for a heroine.

dreamingofsun · 20/12/2013 16:52

as someone who chose slightly unusual names only to have the godparent copy it, i shouldn't worry too much. though sophie is very popular.

i love tess, though i probably would have gone teresa on birth certificate and tessa as introduction.

DingDongUriGelleryOnHigh · 20/12/2013 16:56

Fiona is awful sorry. Sophie is very sweet but Tess, wow it knocks my socks off. Its a very strong, straightforward, independent name. I love it.

invicta · 20/12/2013 17:00

Fiona as my first choice ( or Ffion), followed by Tess ( Teresa)

dreamingofsun · 20/12/2013 17:02

ah now ffion is a great name. ffion or tess/tessa. classy, but not snotty, with it, clean, fashionable, thin and trendy, friendly, popular - thats what one of these would look like

thehouseoflego · 20/12/2013 17:29

Tess!

Behindthecandelabra · 20/12/2013 18:09

Love Tess.

Flossiechops · 20/12/2013 18:10

Another vote for Tess!

picnicbasketcase · 20/12/2013 18:13

In order of preference

Sophie
Tess
Fiona

Bowlersarm · 20/12/2013 18:14

Tess

SaltyGoodness · 20/12/2013 18:16

I'm thrilled to hear lots of positive responses to Tess!

I wouldn't go for Teresa but Tessa is a possibility.

Very mixed responses on Fiona... She would likely get Fi (pron. Fee) as a nn, which I love...

Ffion is lovely but diificult to spell for many people so sadly it's out.

I adore Tess, it's one of my favourite names (my husband isn't as fussed which is why I never used it). But just Tess.

I am one of the other names - the 'F' one - I've never liked it. Sophie is lovely.

wigglesrock · 20/12/2013 18:27

If you like the nickname Fi (Fee) it will also come naturally from Sophie. I have a Sofia - she gets Fia.

HyvaPaiva · 20/12/2013 18:28

Fiona

hawkmcqueen · 20/12/2013 18:30

In order:
Fiona
Sophie
Tess

Frontdoorstep · 20/12/2013 18:42

Tess sounds like there is a letter missing from the end and it should be Tessa. I like Tessa.

I like Fiona. Sophie's ok.

bzoo · 20/12/2013 18:46

My name is Fiona. I am called Fi. I have only come across two other Fiona's. Discounting the shrek one.

Don't think anyone calls me Fiona anymore now I think of it. Always Fi Smile

dippydaisy1 · 20/12/2013 19:30

I have a ridiculous French name which no South African can pronounce. Might as well have been called by the nickname all along!

SaltyGoodness · 20/12/2013 20:19

Arghh.... I love them all and can't choose!!! Will definitely have to wait till we see her, maybe then we'll know?? Xmas Smile

I love Tess. Sophie is nice too.

SaltyGoodness · 20/12/2013 20:22

There's been a late run on Fiona Grin so the tally so far is:

Tess 9
Fiona 6
Sophie 3
