I met a guy called 'Wonderful' today.

He was from Malawi. A tough name to live with in the UK but he lived up to it He was very proud. Not sure that will inspire any of you but it brought a smile to my face.

Ah. I used to know a man called Comfort Golightly. Always bought a smile to my face - he was huge and rugged, but had such a delicate, ballerinary kind of name.

Comfort was from Malawi too !

I teach a little girl called Marvellous, and indeed she is!

I used to work with a guy called Favorite. He has siblings too which always makes me grin. The name suits him, hes a cracking guy.

He makes mike tyson look delicate so if you didnt like his name you wouldnt say it to his face

I know people called Praise, Peace, Gifty, Blessing (x2), and Precious . I love all of these names and they are all lovely people . On the other hand, I know a PrinceWil who was phenomenally arrogant and a giant PITA!

I know children called Precious, Blessing, Glory and Golden!

I know siblings called Praymore, Praise and Prayer

It is very common in Southern Africa for Africans to have names like the ones mentioned in these posts. Precious, Pretty, Blessing etc. How wonderful to have such a happy name :)

I know a Sunny, too. These names just make you smile, don't they? :)

I worked with a guy called Happiness, and another called Efficient (everyone called him Fish!)

So much less prim than the Victorian virtue names - Faith, Hope, Charity, Grace etc

I know two Cleversons! Patience, Gift, Prosper, Victory, Happy, Blessing... the list goes on. I know a man called Mercy, it really suits him.

I do wonder though if Cleverson has a brother named Averageson somewhere.

Efficient is among the best names I've heard!

I used to work in a class which had a Happy and a Lucky.

Both from Bangladeshi families and both lovely little girls.

I know a chap called Admire !

Once met somebody called Lovejoy and she married Mr Paramour and became Loveday Paramour. Fabulous name.

Her name was Loveday !,

In a book I read an African woman said it was such an honour to have been named after somthing so precious - she was called Rain.

Thought that was SO lovely

My son has a Joyful in his class
