Alexa Sienna Coco

happyhorse · 05/11/2013 15:06

Alexa is lovely and by far the most classy on your list IMO.

lottiegarbanzo · 05/11/2013 15:18

Ha ha! Well, if you introduced me to Sapphire, Hendricks and... Gordon? I might feel able to tell which part of the drinks cabinet interested you most!

Oh, I like Callista.

lottiegarbanzo · 05/11/2013 15:48

Ooh, or Callia - Caeden, Layla and Callia - works I think?

Spaghettinetti · 07/11/2013 23:15

Tallia, Jasmine and Sienna are all nice.

Nataleejah · 07/11/2013 23:20

I like Sienna and Ruby

RatherBeOnHoliday · 07/11/2013 23:24

Everly is beautiful. However like others have said if you are worried about being chavvy perhaps play it safe? Or go for it and sod what anyone else thinks?

Congratulations though.

fuzzle · 07/11/2013 23:45

Why not Alexandra and the you can nn Alexa or Lexie and it has the benefit of non chav-ness. I really like Ruby but I think it has gone chav. Amy?

fuzzle · 07/11/2013 23:49

Oh meant to say Harlow please please please don't if she ever moves within 100 miles of the place she'll be a laughing stock. It would be like calling a child scunthorpe or sthg. There's like a million other names in the world let someone who lives an ocean away from Harlow town, use that name.

wetaugust · 08/11/2013 00:10

Not really my sort of names but here are my views:

Harlow - new town in Essex
Tia - Spanish word for aunt
Tianna - a bit Katie Price
Talia - nick name for Natalie
Jasmine - Like
Cody - boy's wild west character and relation of John Simpson the BBC TV journalist

Kassidy - boy's name and doubly bad because of the 'K' spelling- it just looks illiterate. The poor child would be labelled 'Butch' after the film.

Alexa (Lexi for short) - OK. Prefer Alexis or Alexandra
Sienna - outdated. I always think of the laxative Senna.

Everly - terrible name. Like Utterly Butterly. Reminds me of the Everley Brothers.

Halena - halitosis (bad breath) or Hyena. Halena was a make of movie camera back in the 1960s (Halena Super 8). Helana, Helena all OK.

Coco - clown. You seriously cannot inflict this on a poor defenceless child.

Honey - porn star sounding name (or Bond girl)
Ruby - oldfashioned but one of the better ones in this list
Taylor - past its sell-by date, boy's name.

YesterdayI · 08/11/2013 00:13

Harlow Very chavvy thanks to the beckhams
Tia. Ok
Tianna. Ok
Talia. Ok
Jasmine. Bit twee
Cody. American sounding but ok
Kassidy. Very chavvy especially with the dreaded K
Alexa (Lexi for short). Wayyyyyy to popular and Lexi is chavvy
Sienna. So, so popular
Everly. I quite like this
Halena. Looks like a spelling mistake
Coco. No, chavvy
Honey. NO WAY!

Ruby. Very popular
Taylor. No

I must admit. That all four of my kids have ended up in the top ten names so it's a bit rich that I am criticizing names for being too popular. I love my kids names but I wish they were it so popular.

Viviennemary · 08/11/2013 00:14

Not keen on many on your list. Ruby isn't too bad.

Mutteroo · 08/11/2013 01:18

Harlow - NO! NO! NO!
Tia - Not keen
Tianna - Really not keen
Talia - yuck
Jasmine - do not like at all, find it quite a harsh sounding name
Cody - More often a boys name. Potentially a pretty girls name.
Kassidy - OK but with a C not K
Alexa (Lexi for short) - extremely popular but if we had a 2nd dd she would be a Lexie (Alexandra)
Sienna - A bit meh for me
Everly - Now this I like!
Halena - Love your pronunciation of this name & it goes well with her siblings
Coco - nice but a bit too 'I'm named after a celebs child'
Honey - Ruined by Honey Boo Boo. Would be fabulous otherwise
Ruby - Adore this name. Becoming very popular
Taylor - Layla & Taylor? No, please don't! Dislike this name as it feels like a uber-chavvy name.

Congrats OP!

Wuldric · 08/11/2013 01:41

Being brutally frank (it is late and I am tired) pretty well all of the names on your list are chavvy. With the possible exception of Ruby and Jasmine, and even then I am not sure.

Why do you want to label your child like this? Why not give your child a name that will not disadvantage him/her? Because names such as you are suggesting do disadvantage children. There isn't a Law Lord in the land who could be called Coco. You are just signalling a particular socio-economic group. Why would you do that? I want my children to fit in anywhere they might end up.

Thants · 08/11/2013 08:50

Coco, honey, ruby and Cody I would avoid. The others are nice particularly Thalia Smile

mewmeow · 08/11/2013 09:33

I like Alex, sienna and Harlow ! Some people might think they're 'chavvy', but I've never been too fussed about that.

Madamecastafiore · 08/11/2013 09:35

Alexa is the only one that i would not consider common (and not in a lots of way!) sorry.

Artandco · 08/11/2013 11:11

Harlow - don't like
Tia - nope
Tianna- nope
Talia - spelt Thalia I love. Will spend life saying its without 'h''
Jasmine- ok
Cody - boys name
Kassidy - boys name. Cassandra/ cassie/ callie are nice
Alexa (Lexi for short)- prefer alexia or alexis
Sienna- nice
Everly- ok, prefer Evelyn
Halena- would get confused with Helena I think
Coco- nope
Honey - that's a food
Ruby - nice, quite a lot around here if that's a problem
Taylor - boys name IMO. Maybe tayla. But Taylor/tayla and Layla are too close

Thalia is the best on your list.

Something like these would use your name preferences:
Thalia Coco Everlyn
Thalia Sienna Hallie

willyoulistentome · 08/11/2013 11:16

Harlow - Chavvy
Tia - Chavvy
Tianna - Chavvy
Talia - OK
Jasmine - Like
Cody - Chavvy
Kassidy - Oh God ! Chavvy
Alexa - OK
Sienna - Too 'try hard'
Everly - Chavvy
Halena - Halitosis!
Coco - Chavvy
Honey - Chavvy
Ruby - Nice but overused
Taylor - Chavvy

Sorry - but you did ask.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2013 20:17

I have taught a nice Tia and a nice Jasmine and a nice Ruby. Don't really like any of them though, sorry.

manicinsomniac · 08/11/2013 21:47

I like a lot of your names. But I have a Savannah so I am persona non gratis on mn!

Harlow - not keen, especially for a girl
Tia - not keen
Tianna - quite pretty
Talia - like it
Jasmine - very pretty
Cody - boy's name?
Kassidy - on my shortlist but spelt Cassidy. Love it.
Alexa (Lexi for short) - really like it. Prefer Alexis (on my shortlist)
Sienna - like it
Everly - interesting. Never heard of it. I think I like it.
Halena - the only 'Ha-leena's I've know have also been spelt Helena.
Coco - not keen
Honey - cute for a kid. Not very adult.
Ruby - not keen
Taylor - really like it.

badtime · 09/11/2013 00:35

Harlow - not good
Tia - not good
Tianna - not good
Talia - I like this, but as you've probably noticed, people will get it mixed up with Thalia, even though it is a completely different and perfectly nice name
Jasmine - good
Cody - doesn't go with Caeden
Kassidy - okay if spelt with a 'C', I suppose
Alexa (Lexi for short) - good
Sienna - okay, I suppose
Everly - too unusual to be chavvy
Halena - spell it Helena!
Coco - okay as a nickname, bad as a full name
Honey - dreadful
Ruby - okay
Taylor - not good

TBH, OP, if you had come on here and your list was:
Talia
Jasmine
Alexa
Sienna
Everly
Helena
Ruby

  • no-one would have said the names were all chavvy, because they are not.

Some other names you could consider:
Ariana
Cleo
Selena or Selina
Cassia
Brooke
Tatiana
Jessamyn or Jessamine (old-fashioned versions of Jasmine)

I like Willow but love Willa. nameberry.com/babyname/Willa
