Anybody know when they are going to publish the data on baby names for 2012? I remember they'd published it by this time last year.

Awww 3 little baby Bellatrixes! lol either those parents have never seen or read Harry Potter and think that it is just a nice variant of Beatrix/Bella or they have very weird sense of humour.....

Meditrina I am considering changing my name to something that the DM would not print Grin Suggestions here

There were only 8 of ds3, so he's ranking at 2458 jointly with various other things (Finbar being one!)

There were 32 of ds2 and 311 of ds1. So ds2 is joint 927th and ds1 is something like 189th.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 12/08/2013 18:31

16 Thors!

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 12/08/2013 18:31

Sigh. All 3 DSs names still in the top 10. I swear they weren't back in the 1990s. I started a trend! Wink Mind you, I don't think ONS published the lists back then.

pommedechocolat · 12/08/2013 19:10

I swear I know 100's of Wilfs! So location based. All Wilf and Ava here if not very sensible names.

MortifiedAdams · 12/08/2013 19:24

I cant search the document on my tablet Sad could anyone tell me the stats for Meg?

Canidae · 12/08/2013 19:24

Somewhere out there are 3 baby girls called Strawberry. I'm not sure what to make of that!

MiauMau · 12/08/2013 19:26

DS's name is in 3987th place on the boys list, I'm surprised that there are 4 as we used the Portuguese version of the name Grin

catgirl1976 · 12/08/2013 19:30

DS is 134 up from 464 - big increase

Mine is 289 and dropping

catgirl1976 · 12/08/2013 19:31

3 little Linxi's Confused

catgirl1976 · 12/08/2013 19:32

Oooh 9 Renesmees

Twihards to the last

Thurlow · 12/08/2013 19:50

Linxi? That's.... unusual.

I also spotted some Neive's. It's a town in Italy so maybe all the babies were named after that?

I'm very good at keeping a straight and polite face at any name mentioned to me - I know I'm having a snark on here but, really, anyone can call their kid what they want to - but there are some names on there I'd struggle to smile at. Renesmee and Thor, for example. I can't help but picture a small 6lb baby in a woolly hat: "Yes, this is Thor." Grin

(Actually the name I've most struggled to keep a straight face over was a 3mo called Ian. You just don't here that often nowadays!)

PeriodMath · 12/08/2013 19:59

Is it not possible to open the full list on an ipad? I really want to see beyond 100!

MortifiedAdams · 12/08/2013 20:11

Oh lord. 12 girls named Chava.

MyNameIsSuz · 12/08/2013 20:11

Mine's number 450! The short form's 66 though, and was flagged up in the BBC article as one of the biggest movers.

pettyprudence · 12/08/2013 20:19

Damn my ds name has gone up 12 places to 52! The horror!

MyNameIsSuz · 12/08/2013 20:21

There were 3 boys born called Jimmy-James! That's the SAME NAME!!!

PeriodMath · 12/08/2013 20:24

Thanks Twister, got it Smile
