Stupid reasons your dp gave to veto a name. (light hearted)

I will admit this came from a comment on the Imogen Tamsin thread as it reminded me of dh when we were looking for names for our children.

He doesn't like what he says are " weak" names so for him Christopher and Alastair are "weak names"

Wouldn't consider Tristan and Sebastian as they were gay names.. (err how the F can a name be gay?)

and it was incredible for a guy who went to a all boys school the amount of girls names that were vetoed because it reminded him of a girl from when he was at school.....

I was like... Hmm

Disclaimer this is considered to be lighthearted..

Obviously I had sound reasons for each of the suggestions he came up with like " No I dont like it" :)

Ds1s name because it rhymes with 'gay' and he would get called gay (name) i used it anyway

Ds2s name because it rhymes with boring and sounds like orange so he would get called boring orange (name) i use it anyway Grin

Nicole because his sister was bullied by a Nicole.

Except his whole family are facebook friends with this Nicole (inc him) and were happily chatting away the other day about her. Hmm

Won't say the name but a girl he (to my knowledge) never went out with but lived next door to for about 6 years when still at high school "In case anyone back home puts two + two together and thinks it odd"???!!

He wasn't gunna let me call our DD Aubrey because it reminded him of Audrey of Corrie, but I put my foot name and got my wish! Yay.

I liked India for a girl - his best mate has a daughter called that apparently!! Thing is we have been together more than 10 years and I have never met this best mate, turns out is just a bloke he deals with at work who has been there for the same amount of time as him - hardly best bloody mate.

Oh and Imogen is the name of a grumpy woman at his work and it would just be weird to call his daughter the same name as her.

He sees no reason as to why we should not call our daughter Scout though!!

My dp has veteod so many names I like. See below;

Jasper - it means wasp
Theodora - ugly as fuck
Meredith - reminds him of Meredith Kercher
Sebastian - too posh
Dexter - too surnamey
Clara - cows name
Matilda - too Germanic
Stellan - utterly ridiculous
Tamsin - knew a mad one once
Serena - as above
Noah - too Biblical
Isaac - as above.

I foresee arguments about naming any baby we have.

Eli - there was a character on 'Last of the Summer Wine' with thick glasses called Eli
Jasper - means wasp
Arthur - too old mannish
Henry - too posh
Oscar - something to do with the film 'Short Circuit'
Esther - reminds him of Esther Rantzen
