Squid, I also have an Amelie. I love Emeline but thought it sounded too similar to Amelie for dd2. Amandine isn't my real name though, I wish it was, I hate my first name Hmm

Lebkuchenlover · 26/05/2013 21:33

Love Ottilie!

God thanks for all the comments, we have taken a left turn and now we are deciding between -
Marcy Elodie
Elodie Alice and
Marcie Ottilie

Marcie by far the best name imo.

Quite like Marcie Alice tbh.

amandine07 · 27/05/2013 13:08

Elodie Alice is lovely!

ChippingInWiredOnCoffee · 27/05/2013 14:06

How about Elodie Marcy?

ukfirestorm · 27/05/2013 15:11

ukfirestorm · 28/05/2013 09:53

Is Elodie too popular, should we go Marcy elodie? {Its a double barrelled surname - C-L

Mehrida · 28/05/2013 10:06

I can't believe Otillie is so popular. Certainly not up here in the wilds of Scotland it's not.

My lovely gran was Otillia, nn Tilly. The kindest, gentlest person I've ever known so I'm a bit biased on your name choices!

All the best with your forthcoming arrival.

JumpingJackSprat · 28/05/2013 10:12

Otillia is nice, otillie is not imo. i like elodie out of your choices. dont like marcie i prefer marie, marcie looks like a misspelling to me.

ZolaBuddleia · 28/05/2013 13:44

Love Manon.

CalamityJones · 28/05/2013 13:49

Ottilie is a really beautiful name. Best of luck!

allinatizz · 28/05/2013 13:55

"Why is everyone calling their child Ottilie?"

The only person I've ever heard of who called their child Ottilie is me (and DH Grin ). Love it, naturally, but also think Elodie is beautiful.

FWIW we didn't even have a list of names before DD was born and it just jumped out of the book at us when she was a few hours old. Since naming DD we have heard of one or two others, but usually they are 90 year old Grannies (Like Mehrida's Gran). We just liked it.

Is is getting popular then? We must have started a trend!

GW297 · 28/05/2013 14:58

I only know one Elodie and no Ottilies!

BerryLellow · 28/05/2013 15:18

I like both :)

They aren't that popular, it's just more unusual sounding than evie, grace, lily etc so you remember when you hear it IMO.

French girls' names always sound so lovely I think. But then I have Cornish named boys so I have no experience in this field :o

Emsmaman · 28/05/2013 15:20

Elodie was on our shortlist Smile
I think you will have a lot of people mishearing and saying Emily though, as Emily is super popular at the moment!

Turniptwirl · 28/05/2013 19:23

Elodie
