What names have you heard recently to make you stop in your tracks and wonder if the parents are a bit mad?

My most recent favourite is... Flossy, for a girl.
Made worse because my dads pet name for me is Flossy, or Floss. So to hear it as an ACTUAL name just makes me gawp.

Worst boys name - Banjo.

To the person who said about the name 'Xenon' on the first page you probably heard someone call their son the completely normal Polish name Zenon.

squoosh · 13/05/2013 17:41

MACJESUS IS THE WINNER!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 13/05/2013 18:05

Louisiana - They were not Polish, they were very English middle-class.

xigris · 13/05/2013 18:10

MacJesus?!! That is just pure genius. Almost makes me want to have another baby!

dementedma · 13/05/2013 21:25

I know a Petronella - known as Plum

GreenLeafTea · 13/05/2013 23:56

MacJesus, I love it!!

Moominsarehippos · 14/05/2013 09:08

ladyjadie · 14/05/2013 09:56

Mc Jesus, that pie filling's hot!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 14/05/2013 10:16

There is a girl in my DD's class at school (reception) called Angel'Mai. It's all one word, you have to say it joined together.

I also know a Jozzi and a Kenny. They are siblings.

IcingTheCake · 14/05/2013 10:18

I know two boys (brothers) called Spike and Buzz Smile adorable though haha

ABirdInTheBush · 14/05/2013 10:59

I can't say the first name even though it made me 'huh?' because it's so unusual I will out myself, but this poor child's middle name is Flash and his surname is Gordon.

And I know a Nevaeh T'nes.

xigris · 14/05/2013 11:31

I know a little girl called Serenity. She's gorgeous and very serene. wish I'd thought to name my children something like that, maybe they would be the crazed hooligans they are today

Moominsarehippos · 14/05/2013 13:53

My sister taught an Alora. I worked with a colleague whose child was names Cara Mia (sweet!).

aquashiv · 14/05/2013 14:32

Colin.

Choccyhobnob · 14/05/2013 15:34

I know of a Daisjhua-Maire pronounced Die - sha -Marie. Don't know where the heck it came from, the parents are Saaarf London through and through and yes Marie is spelt Maire. Don't know if it's a legitimate spelling, made up or just mis spelt!

Moominsarehippos · 14/05/2013 15:39

Japanese maybe?

Choccyhobnob · 14/05/2013 15:49

Moomins - err definitely not! There's nothing Japanese about this lot, think Jeremy Kyle, Shamless or that Skint programme which was on last night... Hmm

Moominsarehippos · 14/05/2013 15:57

I just heard someone yell for Divani (boy I think).

GreenLeafTea · 14/05/2013 19:22

No, I knew a boy called Zen who was anything but.

There was a Japanese lad called Raki. It took me ages to work out it was Lucky.

That was more of a Ah! moment than a Huh! moment.
