Help need a classic, not dull or not too popular girls name for DD2

That's it really.

Found out we are having a 2nd girl yesterday. Our 1st DD is Anna Isabelle, both classic not too popular and family related names.

However really struggling with DD2 name. Like Rose/Rosa and Sophia but too popular. (I had a popular name in the 70s and hated being known with my surname). DH has suggested Doris (which is NOT happening!!!).

Any ideas oh wise MNnetters????

Thanks

Elodie

Classic French but not very common in England. Means 'white blossom'

Goes well with Anna IMO.

We have an Elizabeth and Anna was on our shortlist, so perhaps we have similar taste, OP...

On that basis, other names we discussed are:

Iris
Penelope
Helena
Etta
Cecelia
Beatrice
Imogen
May
Juliet

Rose and rosa aren't very common as first names I don't think, check out the league tables. I only know one of each and they are both older - 10 and 12. They are both beautiful and go perfectly with Anna.

Definitely Alexandra. Classic but not over-popular.

Also like Juliet and Miranda, classic but not over-used. Or maybe Francesca, Rosamond...

Lovely and goes well with your DD1. Eliza is quite underused IMO.

Eliza rose is a gorgeous name! Wish I was called that! Also sounds nice with Anna?

Eliza Rose is very pretty...so long as you aren't bothered by Rose being a fairly popular middle name. Other names I think go well with Anna and aren't over-used are Sarah, Rachel, Louisa, Hope and Imogen.

Hi all

Sorry to revivie an old thread but disaster has occurred on the name front. Am 39+3 and 'D'H has woken up this morning and said he hates the name Eliza now. Given that I am refusing the name he likes of Doris (!), I can't force him to like Eliza (or can I if labour is long???!!) so panicking that soon to be born DD2 will be nameless!

Anyway, after some conversation he has stated he quite likes another diminutive of Elizabeth (the family name we both like but can't have because of 2 nieces - one on each side with that name). So now thinking either Elsa or Elsie.

Also complicating issue is that due to recent loss in thefamily, I would like to have the middle name Alice from my grandmother so name would be [name] Alice Rose.

My question(s) is which oh wise MN sounds better with that combination of middle names - Elsa or Elsie?

Also would it be too weird to have Elsa (which I slightly prefer), given that DD1 is an Anna?? (thinking of shouting names in playground?)

Or at this point should I just give up and resign my fat hormonal pregnant state to accepting Doris??? :-(
