Have just dug a list of possible names for my future DC I made when I was 15 or 16. It contains such gems as:

Girls:

Misty
Rio

Tea (with a dash over the 'e' i.e. pronounced Taya)

The only one i dont like now is lopez. Having said this, my DD doesn't have any of the girls names on the list.

I remember being convinced of having six children and constantly rearranging the name order to find the one that i felt just 'rolled off the tongue'....

Esme. I heard the name Esme and knew if I ever had a daughter that would be her name - and it is, DD1 is indeed Esme

My mum was pregnant when I was 15, and the names I suggested to her were:

Girls - Pagan (!), Amber, Heaven (Mum should NOT have let me read Virginia Andrews!)

Boys - Logan (V. Andrews again), Trent, Drake

I wanted Jason for a boy and Jasmine for a girl. I don't think mine were bad actually!

Priceless all! Particularly love Rio, OP. I desperately wanted a daughter called Roxy - then found out it was the name of Roger Taylor's dog so it didn't make the cut!

i was going to have twin girls called melody and harmony. Have failed on both accounts, no twins and no girls neither!

Mine were Blaise and Thea, from a teen vampire novel and for a boy Bailey (party of five). 6 dcs later none of these names were used but I still kinda like them

Chuck, Chip and Cookie -joke! Very 50s American! Think I quite liked Haricot for a boy too!

I was obsessed with the name Lia when I was younger. I actually met someone with that name quite recently and I had the weirdest feeling until later on that night I finally clicked and thought 'that is such a cool name' like a 10 year old again
I also loved Archie but DP said years ago that it was only fit for a dog name so ill have to keep that in mind when we get pets

I loved the name Oliver, which was quite unusual then, my eldest son is called Oliver but it seems a very popular name now. Choices for girls were Elouise - like the Damned song and Emily. Never had girls but would not choose Elouise now

Gabrielle & Giselle, I didn't consider I might have boys

Pagan was a name from 'Lace' wasn't it Golden ?

I thought Benjamin Blue had a nice ring to it, LOL
For girls I liked either Skye or Phoebe. Not sure where any of those ideas came from.
I was also adamant I wanted 6kids. Currently on baby 3 and probably the last (might push to 4 Max!)

I also liked Summer, Red, Autumn and then Phoenix if a boy. Didn't realise I was a hippy until now! Might have been reaction to going to very posh girls school so all the pretty names had associations??
Ah well, my kids have none of those names or even similar, LOL

I doubt many people would 'regret' their dcs name, as then it's not just a theoretical name, it's your child.

I had dd at 17 and had had her name since I was about 12. I don't regret it.
