Have just dug a list of possible names for my future DC I made when I was 15 or 16. It contains such gems as:

Girls:

Misty
Rio
Destiny
Lutricia
Kiri
Loralei
Tea (with a dash over the 'e' i.e. pronounced Taya)
Pinkie

Boys:

Nolan
Drey
Bu
Jenner
Duane
Clifford
Fox
Wilder

Feel free to point and laugh, and to share the mental names you once thought you might call your DC.

OP posts:

FloJo151 - I knew a girl at school called Jessamyn.

Wetthemogwai - max and flo - hilarious!

I know a baby Zane now Hmm

Mine were Bronwyn and Todd. Also an Aussie soap theme for me.

Girl: Isabelle
Boy: Conner, Lysander

Janeatthebarre · 25/11/2012 14:48

Melanie, Nadine and Rachel.

I still like the name Rachel.

oldspeckledtam · 25/11/2012 20:10

Mine were all loosely based on the name of whatever bloke I was seeing.
Rachel, Leah, Tess, Tara spring to mind.

I also loved Thea, Blaise, Diggory and Albert.

I used none of these names and they are not linked to dh's name either.

Ummofumbridge · 26/11/2012 00:57

I had a child at 16! Thank heavens he was a DS as he got a nice name which I still love.
Had he been a dd my list contained -
Shari
Shani
Savannah
Chloe
Amber
Gabrielle.

I will admit to still loving Savannah but I have 4 dds and wouldn't dare use it!
Great thread

Littlecherublegs · 26/11/2012 15:53

Mine were pretty dull and uninspiring (no offence intended just you'd think I'd have had more imagination!) -

Peter
Michael

Lindsey
Emma

!!

My imaginary Boys. ( I was convinced I'd have boys even as a 14 year old) were named

Dragon
Tor (after Glastonbury of course)
Silver Blue

Blush Blush Blush Blush

buttercrumble · 26/11/2012 16:01

I loved Julie , it seemed so grown up and glamorous...

chipmonkey · 26/11/2012 16:38

Angela and Nigel.(Nigel????? wtf?)

Then later, Edwina. In my defence, I knew two Edwinas, one was much younger than me and very cute, the other a little older and (to me) very sophisticated!

Frikadellen · 26/11/2012 16:51

I was going to have 3 girls named Alexandria Victoria and Elizabeth or Sylvia (i was not sure on the last one) I was very into royalty.

A ds would have been Soren after my grandad.

I have 3 girls and a son none of them named the above but Elizabeth and Soren has made the shortlist and dd3 has Sorine as her middle name after much adored grandad.. (who passed away 6 months after she was born)

Dh on the other hand was going to have a dd called Phoebe after JD Salingers "the Catcher in the rye" guess what dd1 is called?

Brodicea · 26/11/2012 18:33

Girl: Ruby
Boy: Dimitri ....

Geranium3 · 26/11/2012 19:56

mine were
paul
owen
katie
jenny
still like the girls names but didn't use them for my dd's

StellaNova · 26/11/2012 21:28

Gary or Scott for a boy.

Any number of girls names including Sandra, Samantha and, as I have mentioned before on here to general mocking, the stunning Killashandra.

My two boys are not called Gary and Scott.

OkayHazel · 27/11/2012 18:45

Lots of people are saying they're glad they didn't get pregnant at 15!

Do any MN teenage mums regret their naming choices now? (Say 5+ years later?)

Panzee · 27/11/2012 18:47

My daughters were going to be called Roxanne and Liberty. I wasn't going to have sons.

TessOfTheBaublevilles · 27/11/2012 19:48

My boy names were more or less what they are now; Jack (DS1), Alexander (DS2), Samuel and Edward, and other such classic/traditional type names.

As far as girl names go, I vividly remember thinking spelling Daisy as Daizee was "much cooler", and being adamant that's what I'd name a daughter if I had one. I also liked the name Angel-Rose. Blush

My 3-year old daughter is named Sarah. Not quite as "cool" as Daizee or Angel-Rose, but it has charm!

debdee · 27/11/2012 22:30

Hawk for a boy, Thaiana for a girl...

RedcupsforChristmas · 27/11/2012 23:17

Pearl and Peach....for girls....blimey...thank god I saw sense before having DD!:)

greencolorpack · 27/11/2012 23:21

I chose a name when I was 9 for the son i planned to have one day and he is called that; sometimes our younger selves have good taste in names.
