I know someone whose daughter and son are called Paris and Troy. Really! Aside from being utter rubbish, I mean, if we are going with mythology Paris is a boy not a girl, and Troy is a place not a person! Its Paris and Hector surely? Or Troy and Mesopotamia?

So can you top that? Go on, I could do with a laugh.

I was thinking Neil,Nigel,Niall and Nia!

N isn't my favourite letter for names Grin

PickledFanjoCat · 21/11/2012 14:19

Noddy & nobby.

InNeedOfBrandy · 21/11/2012 14:22

I still don't understand why it was laboured and silly and contrived because they all have to same initial. I think your the silly one to of judged.

InNeedOfBrandy · 21/11/2012 14:26

My N names.

Nevaeh, Nicole, Nigella, Naiomi, Natasha, Nick, Nia, Nadia, Narda, Nadine, Natalya, Nathen, Nahir.

PickledFanjoCat · 21/11/2012 14:27

That's thirteen kids right there if your game brandy Grin

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 21/11/2012 14:31

I know a family with three Ms, and another with two Js and a C. To be honest I'd have gone with another J.

Despite apparently being the judgey master mind, same letters in a family doesn't bother me.

Grin This thread is making me want to go and have 11 more dc just to name them.

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 21/11/2012 14:33

Ha ha - that will teach us all Brandy

I ran out of names both DH and I liked after DD2, poor DD3 definitely got the dregs of the names we liked.

OP posts:
DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 21/11/2012 14:34

Actually what letter were all yours Brandy - was it T? We can start working on a collective list of 11 T names now, and see how many people we can wind up along the way!

OP posts:
InNeedOfBrandy · 21/11/2012 14:36

Yes T there Tianna and Tayon

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 21/11/2012 14:41

I think Talia is a lovely name. I proposed it for DD3, DH vetoed it bastard Grin.

So after that... Tyrion? Tywyn? and then a game of thrones theme for the other 9? Eddard, Arya, Sansa, Cersei, Rickon - I've run out of steam.

Have people actually said that your children's names are chavvy Shock. They're not!

Also InNeed your children are gorgeous (had a peek at your profile).

FellatioNelson · 21/11/2012 14:42

Alis you are almost spot on! The ones I can remember from my distant memory were Neil, Nialls (not Niall but Nialls)Confused Nia and Nikita.

Imagine shouting to that lot for their tea. Shock Think there may have been an Neveah as well but not sure - it was years ago, but I remember some of them unusual.

InNeed Was it you? You seem to be taking this very badly. Grin

The point is that to name so many children with the same initial is gimmicky (and therefore silly IMHO, which after all is what this thread is about - our opinion of silliness) and whether or not you like the names is irrelevant - they come over like a giant tongue twister.

I swear some people come onto name threads just to get all professionally offended.

InNeedOfBrandy · 21/11/2012 14:43

Iv'e got tee and tay sounding names so I'd want the start to be different

Alisvolatpropiis · 21/11/2012 14:43

I love Tyrion/Tirion. Tis a Welsh name.

YoullScreamAboutItOneDay · 21/11/2012 14:43

I think the problem with going with one initial letter is only the practical one if you have a big family! Nothing wrong with two children with the same letter. Or three. Or more. But if you get to four or more the chances of having that many names you love with the same letter starts to get a bit slim. I sometimes wonder whether the Duggar's regret their name 'theme' now. By the time you get to child no 19 it must be tough to only get to use one chapter of the baby name book. And it's not as if they could have turned round now and said 'oh, yes, no 19 is Elizabeth'.

OwlLady · 21/11/2012 14:48

I don't understand what is wrong with some of these names Confused

OwlLady · 21/11/2012 14:49

the freya, lily, finn one etc what;s wrong with it? i really don't get it

FellatioNelson · 21/11/2012 14:50

I had Thalia on my list for a girl when I had DS3 who is 13. But it should be pronounced TAR-leah. I met someone else with a daughter called Thalia and she pronounced it Ter-LEE-ah which is WRONG and completely put me off. Grin

LivingInAPinkBauble · 21/11/2012 14:51

'Oh I didn't see your point there, op. I agree with brandy it got a bit horrible in the middle.

Putting warning judgemental is pointless.

I can't go over tesco and shout warning shoplifter before filling my pocket with chocolate oranges.'
PickledFanjoCat Bauble cat is now glaring at me whilst washing yoghurt from her fur, your comment made me laugh and spit out my lunch!

No real shockers to share but my friend makes me laugh-she organises the class lists in her multi form entry school and puts all the children with themed names together-think things like Mercedes and Porsche!

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 21/11/2012 14:53

I missed two sitters - Tarquin and Troy!

FellatioNelson · 21/11/2012 14:54

Brandy If you've got Tee and Tay you need Toe and Tu and Ty. One for each noel. But you need 5 children.

Tyson. Tucson. Toni. Taya.

Sorted.

InNeedOfBrandy · 21/11/2012 14:54

Not professionally offended just sick of the constant stream of snobbyness towards dc with tram lines.

Tayon is a take on the Welsh name Tavion and a name I heard on Maury Grin

And thankyou I for dc compliment Grin

Alisvolatpropiis · 21/11/2012 14:55

As a teenager I knew a girl who was one of four siblings with the initials A,A,C,D respectively. Nothing wrong there but I always wished they had given the second sibling (my friend) a name beginning with B. Grin

InNeedOfBrandy · 21/11/2012 14:56

I like Taya not the rest Grin
