I'm thinking of calling my next daughter coriander, what do you all think?

math thanks for that I was wondering what this herb was that all the american cooking programmes used that looked like coriander.

maillotjaune · 27/10/2012 09:24

Great spice, nice herb, awful name.

My first thought was of the spice so you could try Cumin, Caraway, Ginger, Black Mustard....Grin

biscuitracer · 27/10/2012 09:47

Any thoughts on cardamom? Been telling DH about comments on here and he suggested that as alternative

You do hear Saffron though... Never Tumeric, Garam Masala or Garlic (equally fine ingredients)

squoosh · 27/10/2012 09:51

Nigella?

I mean it's awful but it's a name and it's a black onion seed.

Frontpaw · 27/10/2012 09:54

Nigella flowers are pretty enough. The Lawson connection is enough for me not to sew any. Annoying woman.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 27/10/2012 09:57

Corinna?

ABitWoozy · 27/10/2012 10:04

I was convinced there was a sleb baby called Coriander already but looks like one baby had a lucky escape here

DorsetKnob · 27/10/2012 10:10

Thanks for cheering me up OP and OP's DH.

Cardamon, really?

What about tumeric?

DorsetKnob · 27/10/2012 10:39

Cumin
Fennel
Cinnamon
Mustard

pikesy1 · 27/10/2012 11:04

Have you chosen a middle name, OP?

almapudden · 27/10/2012 11:04

I quite like Thyme.

biscuitracer · 27/10/2012 11:11

Thyme and tide wait for no man though! Not set on a middle name, did think coriander/cardamom patricia has a lovely flow to it.

OscarPistoriusGirlfriend · 27/10/2012 11:16

My name is 5-spice!

I'm on my iPhone so can't do the linky thing properly, but I promise it's worth a copy and paste. Grin

biscuitracer · 27/10/2012 11:24

Excluding the fact it is a kitchen item, colander is toouch like Colin Grin
