Middle name for Scout

Our beautiful surprise DD arrived on Wednesday (we were convinced she'd be a boy!) and we are trying to decide between names.

I've always loved India, particularly the NN Indie but actually, when I try it out on her, it just doesn't feel right. DH has always wanted Scout which I also really like and feels much better but I'm struggling to come up with a middle name that would suit it.

Scout isn't an absolute definite (I think MIL lives in hope of it being ruled out!) so other ideas would be welcome.

Thanks!

Love love love Scout. Didn't even run it by OH for our DD as knew he'd totally veto it. That is until last month he picks up TKAM and goes "wow, I love the name Scout"... By then she was Edith, which I adore anyhow.

Have you considered any other literary references. The Hunger Games has a FAB collection of names. If I ever end up with another little lady down the line, I would love her to be Rue.

But go with it, we ummed and ahhhed over Edith for so long, and OH nearly bottled it after mixed feedback from his family. I'm so glad we stuck with it.

Wow - loads of opinions!! Didn't think we'd get that many responses! I really like the idea of using Scout as a nickname (which really doesn't sound harsh to me but maybe it's an accent thing?) and we've now gone with India Scout.

She's mixed White/Chinese and I think an unusual name will suit her plus we still get to call her Scout!

I know lots of you will hate it but then that's what makes the world go round!

Ps Badgerina - High court judges - PMSL!!! Spike's great!

Hybrid Great choice! Sounds lovely and you get to use both of the names you like Smile Enjoy the next few weeks cuddling your little squishy.
