Kate
Alice
Freya
In that order.

TheSinglePringleWillicopters · 04/05/2012 17:03

Isobel
Eva

Love them. A friend has a little girl named Freya and suits her.

squoosh · 04/05/2012 17:08

At a push I'd give the nod the Freya.

reastie · 04/05/2012 17:09

Love Alice but then I would as it's DDs name Grin . I also like Holly

anniewoo · 04/05/2012 17:17

Holly, Alice, Evie , Freya lovely - oh to have had a second daughter!

manicinsomniac · 04/05/2012 17:29

My order would be:
Isobel - love
Eva - love
Holly - like
Alice - like
Evie - okay
Freya - okay
Kate - not keen

Angellight · 04/05/2012 17:36

Holly
Alice
Kate
Isobel
Freya
Eva
Evie
in that order love holly and alice.

Springforward · 04/05/2012 17:38

Isobel
Freya
Kate, but as NN for Katherine/ variant of
Eva
Alice
Holly

In that order.

exoticfruits · 04/05/2012 17:44

Kate but Katherine on birth certificate followed by Alice.

BBQJuly · 04/05/2012 17:59

Holly is my favourite of your list :) Isobel lovely too.

Evie and Eva are pretty but very popular ATM.

Alice and Kate rather dull IMHO, and I don't like Freya.

FlorenceInTheLatrine · 04/05/2012 18:00

My problem with Kate is that I don't like Catherine/Katherine, and I don't like nicknames as birth-certificate names. So I think it might be out.

Didn't know Evie and Eva were very popular, thought Isobel was maybe too popular. I should do my research :)

I named my DD Evie without doing my research. It is VERY popular. I probably wouldn't choose it again if I could turn back time.
Round here every second child is called Freya.

BBQJuly · 04/05/2012 18:07

Evie/Eve/Eva/Ava, plus names with Evie as nickname (Evelyn, Genevieve) are pretty popular when you add them all together.

Isabel/Isobel/Isabella also popular - lovely and classic though :)

Geranium3 · 04/05/2012 19:43

isabel prefer to isobel
freya
katie rather than kate

kerala · 04/05/2012 19:51

Avoid anything with Eve in it. One third of the girls in DDs class are called a variant of Eve (4 year olds) that name is definitely full. Lots of Isobels/Izzys as well. Your names are very popular ones - fine if that doesn't bother you. I prefer Kate.

loobylu3 · 04/05/2012 20:51

Kate, Alice and Isobel are beautiful. Particularly love Alice and Isobel but everyone else seems to as well at the moment as they are v popular (particularly Isobel).

Much prefer simple Eve to Evie and Eva. Again, these names are all v popular at present.

Not too keen on Holly and Freya.

Takver · 04/05/2012 20:57

You have my name, dd's middle name, and dd's best friend's name in your list!

I like all of them, if pushed I would say, in order:

Kate,
Holly,
Alice,
Isobel
Freya
Evie, Eva

Freya and Evie/Eva last only because they are very popular at the moment.

DoggieAndDuckie · 04/05/2012 20:59

10 years ago, I'd have thought Isobel, Freya and Evie/Eva were unusual, beautiful names. I have to say that now I know so many little girls with those names that they've become a bit done for me. in fact, the last 3 little girls we have in the family include 2 of those!

I think Alice and Kate are gorgeous - simple, classic, timeless, pretty, easy to say/spell and fit the bill for baby or woman. Holly is a bit too seasonal for me Grin.

Doitnicelyplease · 04/05/2012 21:03

DD1 is Eva (she is 3.5 now and I still love it), personally never liked Evie or Ava (which are much more popular where I live)
DD2 due end of June is probably going to be Freya

So I think you have great taste!

In order of preference:

Eva
Freya
Holly
Alice
Kate
Isobel
Evie

Here are some others on our longlist:
Lara
Mia
Etta
Mila
Lia (Leah)
Sadie
Rosa

janie2 · 04/05/2012 21:03

My faves:

Alice (biased DD's name)
Kate
Holly

FlorenceInTheLatrine · 04/05/2012 21:06

Grin Takver.

I don't like unusual names, want something simple, classic and pretty. She's going to be lumbered with a foreign and difficult to spell surname so want to make life easier with the first! So popular doesn't bother me. But every second girl in the class having the same name would be a bit annoying.

I've wanted to call a daughter Evie/Evangeline ever since watching House of Eliott in the early 90s!

Takver · 04/05/2012 21:10

I think you've got a great list. I definitely agree that having a simple classic name is good, especially if you have an unspellable unpronounceable surname . . . at least the teachers could always say my first name right!

lou143 · 04/05/2012 21:11

I eva , beautiful like cassidy xx
