We both like the name Humphrey very much, but it does seem to be a love it or hate it name. What's the MN verdict?

Yes

I know quite a few people for whom Humphrey is the alternative word used for 'spot' as in 'I've got a huge Humphrey on my chin'. So I wouldn't use it for that reason...

Nooooo!
Ugly.
Quite hard to pronounce.
Hump is not an attractive start to the name visually either.

My sons would definitely have the hump if I named them Humphrey.

I rather like it.

But you'll get sick of "What do you call a camel with three humps?"

Anyone else remember the advert jingle

"Get more milk, they're on the attack.
Watch out, watch out, watch out, watch out
'cos the Humphreys are back"

MamaM - I love Humphreys as a surname, it sounds all warm and squishy! Grin

One of my children was nick named 'humph' by her siblings, because of the noise she made as a toddler stomping off to sulk Smile

Wasn't there a camel connection?

I'm not keen personally (sorry), there's something vaguely comical about it. Herbert?
